I thought Dusty would be all over this, but I'm guessing some bad warthog memories remain...

Triumph got a nice long run out of their 790/865 engines.  I owned an '03 model (790cc w/ 360 crank.) bought it used with slightly over 4000 miles, and rode it an additional 45,000.  A robust engine.  I'd do another one.
Main ride:  2008 Guzzi 1200 Sport (sold July 2020)
2012 Griso 8v SE (sold Sept '15)
Reliable standby: 1991 BMW R100GS
2014 Honda CB1100 (Traded Nov 2019)
New:  2016 Triumph T120 (Traded Dec 2021)
New:  2021 Kawasaki W800

I came this close || to buying a 2012 Triumph Scrambler but decided the weight penalty over the V7 wasn't worth it. May 'scrambler'ize' the V7 one day. Guzzi just announced availability of a high pipe for the Mk3 but at nearly $2K it's crazy expensive. Still, I like the look...

I had an '08 Scrambler - air cooled with carburetors.
It was fun to ride. It had some character.
Certainly more character that the 2012 Bonneville SE that replaced it. That Bonneville was fine once I got rid of the air injectors and remapped the fueling, but....
Neither bike really excited me.

I have not ridden a water cooled Bonneville (or derivation of), so I can't comment on them.
The air cooled Hinckley bikes are fine motorcycles, but I really prefer my V7 ii.

2015 V7 II
2018 V7 III Milano
