"Alone With Her Bike, the First Females to Ride Around the World

Takeaway: "What fascinates me most about the stories of the women I’d like to share with you today, is not that they dared to figure out how to ride a motorbike or infiltrate a culture heavily dominated by male protagonists. It is more so their innate bravery to ride into the unknown, across the world– without the safety of a partner, without the comfort of technology (certainly no sat-nav) or the reassurance of previous trailblazers to show them it was even possible."  Messy Nessy Chic"

From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

No interstates.

No cell phone, no GPS, no SPOT, no calling home every night ... How in HADES did she do that?   That's IMPOSSIBLE!   It's DANGEROUS!

But what I really want to know is, what initiated this roadside repair?

Probably started with a broken cable, then found a clutch problem, then found a buggered crankshaft thread, then ... then ...

We all know the feeling, we just usually don't have to fix it in downtown Kabul with a pair of pliers and a soup spoon .... !

:1: Thanks Tom!

Rumor has it that Elspeth Beard will be the Overland Expo in Flagstaff AZ. this May.

This was an additional link found at the bottom of the "Alone With Her Bike" page.  It has several fun photos of lady riders from the past.
