Wow, 300 HP!  You'd be able to pass anything except a gas station .... !

...and then, in 1971, the famous "Boat-Tail" Riviera!

On my 2009 Alaska trip I stopped one night at a cabins/campground near the junction of the Cassier Hwy and the Alaska Hwy. Also there was the Bentley tour. There were about a dozen early cars and several "newer" ones.

When they fired them up in the morning -- oh what a glorious sound!

Driving Bentleys to Alaska?

Now THERE's a crowd not short of a bob or two!

Anyone else recall the fire that destroyed GM's nearly brand new hydramatic plant? Livonia, MI 1953. Their only hydramatic plant. It was replaced w/in an extraordinarily short time; I think using an empty, nearby K-F plant. For 3 or 4 months Oldsmobiles were getting dynaflow transmissions. A neighbor had one. It could actually smoke the tires.
A few years later I bought used, the only GM vehicle that worked well for me. A 50 coupe, one piece windshield, 3 speed. Added hi-lift rockers, ignition, 2 - 4barrels, headers, shocks and strapped the rear coils some.  R3~
