V7 seat
« on: March 30, 2018, 06:04:55 PM »
first does anybody know for absolutely sure if the 2017 and 2015 seat pans are the same. I know the 17 has the fuses for the abs sticking up and the shock angle is different.
I was going to have Russel do a seat for my 17 but they are booked to August! Fantastic product but really August.
So the Corbin pan will not work on a 2017 at least not with the full set of HB bag mounts. That leaves Bill Mayer or Riches. Riches is quick and a fair price but I don't care for jell inserts like he use. I'm waiting for a call back from Mayer.
Any good bad or indifferent feedback or somebody I'm missing?

I can tell you that the leather seat from the 2015 Anniversary model is a perfect fit on my 2015 Stone.

I haven't bought it yet as I don't need three seats so I'll have to sell one of both or take the stock seat to a custom shop and have it done up like the Anniversary seat.

I did not try to put my stock seat or Racer seat on the Aniv model.

Best of luck

I got my V7ii seat done by Russell two years ago and honestly if I were you I might try someone else. I am not that satisfied with the execution, the seat is quite hard still after 10k miles - although the additional surface area from the wings do definitely help. I had a Russell in the past for a BMW K75 and the seat was definitely more soft and comfortable... I should really have sent it back for the included single modification they allow but I did not want to give up any more of the season...

I did get the seat heater option and perhaps the inclusion of that necessitated adding a denser(harder) foam? Not sure, but the seat heater itself is definitely an amazing feature - wouldn't want to give that up now that I've lived with it

I'm sure they will still let you send it in for an adjustment. Or sell it here and get something else.
The Corbin looked like it would be great but it can't be used if you have saddlebag mounts. t least not on the 17. I'll report on the Meyer when I get it back.

There is a V7 seat for sale by Matthew from the now extinct Moto Italiano Colorado Springs.

If I had the funds I would buy it...looks nice!

So, yes the seats are interchangeable between 2015 and 2017. That fuse sticking up is not an issue. I have tried both the single cafe and the 1.5 cafe seat, pans look to be identical, latch is in same position.
