'67 Guzzi Servi-Trike?
« on: April 05, 2018, 03:12:50 PM »

http://auto-pizza.com/details.php?id=1569

This is NOT click-bait, I sent the link to myself and opened it in a different browser so I know it works, this is a RI listing for a '67 Guzzi Ercole Servi-Trike at a ridiculous price.

Engine isn't a V-twin, but the decals definitely say Moto Guzzi. The wooden body looks totally custom, but did they make these as 2-seaters?

Nice, is that a pasta cooker under the seat on LH side?

So that's where the Chinese got the idea from - Tianji 2012

I think these are just about as rare as the Guzzi now, there used to be hundreds chuffing up the road belching diesel smoke, I'll find out next week.

that's a true Moto Guzzi Ercole. they didn't have a Vtwin in them it's a 500cc single.

Amazing. Reckon that $750 price is missing a zero or two?

He was worried I might steal it, they aren't laying concrete there, the wheel barrows will be along to relocate it shortly.

If you search for 'moto guzzi ercole' you will find many versions of both open and closed cabs, dump bodies. All single seats. My all time favorite (least practical), is the 'air-stair' version. I saw one in Italy. 1961 or 2. Sometimes one will appear @ the IMOC Rally, in September. IIRC a dump body, closed cab and an open cab version with flat bed. There were also military versions w/ tracks.  R3~

I wonder if it comes with an optional heavier flywheel. Looks like a medium duty truck brake drum.

I remember Italy as being kind of hilly, I just can't get over the visual of a rig like that loaded with a full bed being able to drag it's way up a grade or at any real speed with any authority with that engine. Obviously, it's an illusion because they were apparently widely used, but I'm still amazed.

The secret is that they climb hills very slowly...  in the Italy of the past, and to some degree the present, there are lots of slow moving vehicles for you to negotiate your way around as you blast along in your Maserati
