Snow on the ground here this morning.   The birds don't like it much, but I'd just filled all the feeders yesterday so they were singing anyhow .... !

Yep, a little snowfall makes the feeder a busy place.

We are locked into dreary , and almost cold . Improving starting tomorrow , or the guessers are telling us so . Oh well , in about 60 days we will be complaining about the heat and humidity here in Green Country .

Everyone talks about the weather , no one actually does anything about it

At the moment I am in Harrisonville, MO. We are returning from St. Louis. We just checked into a motel as the temp hit 32 and it is snow heavy with big flakes at this time. The good news is that it looks on radar like it will end soon.

I know, I’m a dick for saying so, but a few of us rode about a hundred miles through the canyons today in 90 degree weather.

90 degrees is not bad...it's when it gets to be 105-110-115 degrees...that your brains starts to "swell!!"  :thumb: :1:- - - and if you don't stop to hydrate...you will pass out!  Riding in heat like that is just...well..."DREADFUL!"

beautiful day here in flyover America.

This guy flew in just now.  Can anyone tell me what a gray hawk with a white and brown body is?

Wish he was in better focus.  <shrug>

From Sept. 2017, my back deck.  NOTE the red eyes, which means this is a juvenile...they turn yellow when mature. :thumb:

I quit feeding the birds for a week now cause all the blackbirds were eating the stuff waiting to get to the Robins nest to get their eggs. Going out on a ride to get some more suit, after all it's going up to mid 70's and sunny.

a few weeks ago I found some gray feathers on my lawn.  I thought it might have been one our doves, either Konni or Ardell.  For a time I would only see one of them.  But lately, the pair has been back together.

Probably a brief separation rather than widowhood.

As I mentioned earlier..."Death From Above..."  They are formidable little raptors and the dove is one of their favorites preys...

The earliest our hummingbirds have ever shown up is April 15th (normally around the 22nd), so we boiled up some syrup and hung the feeders out yesterday.

The advent of hummingbirds means spring is REALLY here, despite what the calendar says!
