Couple more pics from the Southwest Pennsylvania Bike Meet and Hillclimb!! We had a great time!

john fish · « **Reply #31 on:** July 09, 2018, 05:27:55 AM »

Glad you could make it to our little meet and glad you enjoyed yourselves. The hillclimb is just a way to spice up your day. :)

The hill was easy for the Breva...even two-up with luggage!

John's not being entirely accurate. He has us all park down there so he can hear the sound of David's Knucklehead accelerating up that hill!

Tomorrow. Come on around if you're not busy.

cookiemech · « **Reply #35 on:** August 12, 2018, 05:09:37 AM »

Gonna check the weather and pick the bike to suit!

john fish · « **Reply #36 on:** August 12, 2018, 05:30:22 AM »

Looks like no rain in the forecast. For now.

Motomoto · « **Reply #37 on:** August 12, 2018, 05:15:11 PM »

FWIW, I always saw more Guzzi and Norton riders than Harley at Root Boy's shows. RIP.

cookiemech · « **Reply #38 on:** August 13, 2018, 05:26:39 AM »

Yes, very nice turnout and amazing weather, considering what we've been having lately! Wish I had gone over to look at that beautiful red CB450 . . .

And no, my KLR doesn't always look angry . . . only when it saw you!

john fish · « **Reply #39 on:** September 06, 2018, 05:13:03 PM »

Yep, it's that time again. Although, looking at the weather, it may just be me and Cookie standing around in the rain eating soggy pastries.

Yeah, let's see how many R100s show up . . . just to annoy you, John!

john fish · « **Reply #42 on:** October 09, 2019, 06:08:04 AM »

This Saturday. Come on down.

cookiemech · « **Reply #43 on:** October 09, 2019, 08:00:38 AM »

So do I bring the Ural to annoy Bob W., or a BMW to annoy you, John?

A BMW usually wards off rain . . .

john fish · « **Reply #44 on:** October 10, 2019, 05:20:41 AM »

Here's the new ad:

Cookie- looks like 58F at 10:00 am warming up to 68F at noon so I'm thinking we might have a small crowd. At least the rain looks like it's going to hold off. I might have to go play the Tag game after the meet.

And you have the gift of being equally annoying no matter what you ride, so you can even bring the Honda. :)

Meeting September 12, 2020, 10:00 am to Noon.

john fish · « **Reply #46 on:** July 10, 2020, 07:58:12 AM »

It you are coming, bring a "puck" or something for under the kickstand just in case you're parking in the grass.
The bakery requires a mask to enter to get a sammich, etc.

Question for moderators: is it better to start a new thread for this or is it OK to resuscitate an old thread?

cookiemech · « **Reply #47 on:** July 10, 2020, 10:19:28 AM »

Thanks for the heads-up on the sidestand puck, John! Guess I'll be busy this afternoon modifying an extra Brown sidestand I have to fit my Ural. I know I have a couple of pucks lying around . . . seems silly, though, as the Ural hasn't fallen over yet, no matter where I park it

Seriously, though, hope the weather gods smile on Mount Morris tomorrow.

Our meet up in Mt. Morris, PA at the Rising Creek Bakery is coming up this weekend. Weather looks great. Rising Creek has food and drink (real food, not just pastries), parking, a rest room, and shade. Here's the link to the Craigslist ad that has a map:

https://morgantown.craigslist.org/mcy/d/pursglove-euro-brit-japanese-bike/7191692694.html

Last month may have been our best turnout ever. Pre-war to brand new. Great fun and i was encouraged to see young people and a few (very few) ladies. The lady who owns the Bakery told me that it was her best day since last fall. She's a nice lady and I'm glad that we can help her.

I love this Beezer. Anyone want to chance an ID attempt?

Flatty hog. A real bike, no added patina and it was modified "back in the day". He frequently rides it over 100 miles to the meet.

Nice turnout. If you come, try and bring a puck or something for under your kickstand. I usually have a bunch there but it's nice to be prepared.

Late model M20 (500cc) or M21 (600cc), post - 1955.

It's the big thumper. 600cc barn find owned by my good friend Mark. He also has a lovely 850t roadster.

Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. I'll need to break out the real camera this weekend.

john fish · « **Reply #51 on:** October 07, 2020, 07:39:46 PM »

Yep, this Saturday. Like many small businesses, the Bakery has had a tough year. It could use our help. Additionally, the fellow who owns the small area where we usually park is being a jerk, but don't worry, well find room for everybody!!

Here's the craigslist ad with map:

https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/pursglove-euro-brit-japanese-bike/7210090216.html

And I never thought of it before but here's the Rising Creek Bakery website:

https://risingcreekbakery.com/

They ship out salt rising bread. If you've never had it, it's a real Appalachian treat. No, it's not laden with salt, it was traditionally kept in the cellar where salt was stored to rise. Great stuff but you really should eat it toasted or grilled. Personally, I'd never heard of it before but I buy a loaf a week now. Got to have it. It freezes well, too. If you decide to order some, tell them that you're with the bike group. Hillary, the owner, could use a hand and she'd be happy to know that we're rooting for her.

Thanks. And here's a picture of a Norton just because.

And again this Saturday. Yes, it'll be cool. Guzzis run better when it's cool. Predicted 60 F but no rain.

I forgot to post up that we had the Second Saturday meet up last Saturday. Ooops. Started out about 28F here but warmed up quickly once people started showing up and the sun came out. Coincidence? Maybe. . .

Some photos from various meets. Just because that might be the last meet until spring. And I'm bored. These are all linked from FB. Sorry if you can't see them but that's where I keep the bike photos. Last Saturday:

All of the following pictures were from different dates.

American, German, Italian, twins.

Shovel and Ape.

Love this fairing.

john fish · « **Reply #54 on:** November 16, 2020, 08:05:51 AM »

A diverse and, um, experienced group.

A CBR in front of Jim's Triumph. It belonged to Jim's dad. Jim is probably in his late 20's. Nice to see young people out.

One of my favorite Trumpets. Yeah, there's a little baling wire holding this together but it runs great.

Couple air cooled twins.

The castor oil fogger. Love following this Beezer.

john fish · « **Reply #55 on:** November 16, 2020, 08:23:28 AM »

We don't get many Beezers which is a damn shame.

A couple generations of Beemers. With my Guzzi in the background for a little class. :) I'm not a fan of modifying these old airheads but this one was headed for the trash heap and was saved.

160 raging cc's.

john fish · « **Reply #56 on:** November 16, 2020, 08:32:28 AM »

Now here's an historic road burner.

My friend Nathaniel bought this barn find. 60,000 miles and rust free.

These old road couches are pretty cool. They'll be collectible some day.

This may be the perfect representation of our jagoff free bike meet. Harley, Beemer. Aprilia, MZ, Guzzi, and two sidecar rigs.

cookiemech · « **Reply #57 on:** November 16, 2020, 03:19:54 PM »

It never ceases to amaze me the diversity (an overused word, but I can't think of another) of bikes and people who show up. Older guys, women, experienced riders, young people, vintage British, H-D, Japanese bikes, big-buck stuff, bikes put together on a shoestring.

And the people are nice.

Ya done good, John, putting this together about five years ago!

john fish · « **Reply #58 on:** December 10, 2020, 06:48:47 PM »

Yep, it'll probably just be me and Cookie sitting around bullshitting but the meet is still on for this Saturday. Supposed to be 53F at 10:00 and a balmy 59f at Noon. No rain.

Tragically, last month had a majority of BMWs (BeastlyMotoWankers).

I'm too cheap to put up the Craigslist ads this month-- it's $5 a pop. Here's the website for Rising Creek Bakery:

https://risingcreekbakery.com/

It's at 115 Main St., Mt. Morris, PA. Come on along if you need a pastry. And honestly, who doesn't.

cookiemech · « **Reply #59 on:** December 11, 2020, 04:47:12 AM »

Thanks for reminding me to bring my K75RT, John!
