Interesting to speculate why there aren't more women riding motorcycles.
It's fun, it both gives and projects a certain degree of independence, it's outdoors ... AND a woman can ride just as far as a man can, and just as fast, once everyone's on a track.
I mean, considering the number of activities where women can't compete head to head with men (baseball, football, golf, tennis, lacrosse, competitive running, all those things where musculature makes the difference), you'd think they'd enjoy a sport where they are the full-boat equal of men. Life's not all a competition, I know, but it opens up being able to participate, casually or otherwise, with the other half of the world instead of being limited to just other women .... ?
Maybe that'll change, but Lord knows it's had plenty of time to change in my lifetime, and hasn't. Peggy Iris Thomas, Theresa Wallach, Effie Hotchkiss, Lois Pryce, Bessie Stringfield ... they're still very much the exception, rather than the "rule" ....
