Ariens 2 stroke sno blower storage question NGC

My Ariens 2 stroke sno blower, I think it's the 520 model. I had storage issues last year, when I had the tank full with stabilizer. It ran poorly this season, cutting out frequently. I was able to purge the old gas mixture, clean the carb and tank. After that it ran fine.
My question is what is the best practice regarding the storage for the summer? I have run the tank dry at this point. iThe machine is store in a undated shed for the next 6 months.

I have a similar model of Simplicity. Drain the tank, Line and float bowl. Knocking on wood. Has worked for almost 20 years.

I run all of my 2 smoke equipment on Lawn-Boy oil, which has a stabilizer in it. Have been ever since I bought my first Lawn-Boy 40 years ago. Never had a moments problem with any of them, even after sitting unused for 10 months. I don't drain anything or do anything else. Just shut the machine off and put it away with gas in it.

I always fog my 2 stroke equipment. Keeps the lower end from rusting. Clings to the cylinders.

All my seasonal equipment, 2 stroke and 4, gets fuel during the last couple tanks of the season with 90-octane non-ethanol with "Marine Sta-Bil" in it.
If it has a fuel shutoff (big mowers, generators, tractors) I shut the engine off for the last time with the fuel shutoff to run the bowl dry. If there isn't a fuel shutoff (diaphragm carbs, etc), I just shut it off and leave it.
No more stale-fuel/clogged jet/ethanol problems ...
