Australia Doesn't Exit...er, Exist
« on: May 30, 2018, 03:07:30 PM »
The flat earth society says it's all a big hoax.  All the prison ships from Great Britain were sunk and the prisoners drowned.  I'm going to need a tinfoil hat.

That might explain why some English won't speak to us at parties - it's not because we haven't been properly introduced, it's because we are not really there at all.

So, in the 3+ hours I was in the plane the pilot flew me to America instead!

Just think, I could have been knocking down brown suds at a WG campout instead of being forced to lounge about on what I was lead to believe was a Gold Coast beach.

Met an Ozzie a couple years back who has moved to Texas . I asked him why , he replied , "Got tired of that stupid 100 KPH speed limit" . So there is that . Heck , we drive 100 KPH on our way across town

Now that right there is a good point.
If I lived in a country with a decent speed limit, I'd no longer have to creep along at speeds where I'm being passed by 9 year old girls on pink Cyclops pushbikes with white flower covered baskets on the front and how would I be able to blag (Brooking reference) about contrived miserly fuel consumption figures ?
Also I might have to get an 8V Norge since I'd then have to play in the " Big Boys' pool... :embarrassed:
Nup.
Simply would not do, oh Dust covered one.
Would miss the red rattler too much, but I'm thinking of turning up un announced at the next Cedar Vale thing on a certain (or uncertain) Red Norge.
I reckon there'd be a couple of attendees keen for a chat... :boxing:

Come on Peter , ship that old worn out Norge over . There is a road running by Cedar Vale where you can find out just how fast that Red Beastie really is .

There's a budding young mechanic down here near me masquerading as a font of knowledge, he occasionally stumbles upon a correct answer by sheer accident.
He had occasion to molest my bike then come for a little "ride".
He has posted his views on the relative accelerations achieved between the Green Horror and the Red Rattler up to 200 kph.
Could be conventional wisdom, but I reckon I detected a raised eyebrow from our Aussie ex pat.
No doubt I would have been beaten like a red headed step-son had the lunacy gone on any longer.
(But I was never going to let that happen... :bike-037:)

Oh we are here all right.

You need a great "font of knowledge" down under  to balance all the bullshit that comes from the Northern Hemisphere.

A fellow went into a AAA office recently to collect a bunch of free maps for the various states he was planning on visiting.  After collecting maps for each of the states of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, he decided to ask for a map of the entire USA, but in a 1:1 scale please....

The lady behind the counter didn't even know what to say at that point...

Sure we have just the thing, incredible detail, very realistic,  but we store those outside because they are so large.  Take a look and tell me if you see one.

Got me thinking of a quote allegedly attributed to Albert Einstein :

The ole question that can't be proved one way or the other. Does the chair exist? Or is your perception of the chair the only reality?
I guess we'll never know. But neither should anyone else claim complacency on their existence.
Best way to check is to eat magic mushrooms. Then you'll know for sure you aren't really here. At least that's what they told me.
