From eschade:Wow! I have a 2011 Norge and to me the shifting is snick, snick, snick...but then my only other Guzzi experience is 70,000+ miles on a T-3.
Seriously, I rode a 77 Suzuki GS400 had very light and positive shifting and the Norge is all over that. Maybe I just don't know any better.

I agree shifting on the Breva is smoother and more positive than my Aprilia. So if the v7 is better it must be fantastic

Good to see you back Huzo and sounds like you had a great trip. Over West. Those Germans are pretty adventurous when they get going. Pulled the pin and retired last week and on the plane to the UK on Sunday. Chapter 3 of my European adventure is about to start.

Bob,

Although I'm buried with work at the moment I had offered to meet you somewhere 1/2 way between Columbus & your NE corner so you can take my 2004 V11 Sport for a ride.

Tim, that is one generous offer!  I have never ridden a V11, but sometime I'd like to take you up on this.  I'm posting your offer to my calendar, so don't be surprised if sometime this summer you get a call from me to take you up on it.  Not sure a V11 would be the right bike, but the opportunity to spend some saddle time on one would certainly help me make that decision.

Regards,

Bob

Yes, after 17 years of heavy Guzzi's, downsized 2 years ago to a lighter Beemer and never regretted it.  V7 was not an option because not capable of doing what the Beemer does (long comfortable hauls - two up- full bags) and the V9 - well, let's say not my thing at all.

Keeping a close eye on the V85 though, sincerely hope to ride a Guzzi again one day.
