Does anyone sell Moto Guzzi accessories and apparel for less than MSRP?

My local dealer added $500 in Moto Guzzi accessories to my deal and that only got me a small luggage rack and engine guards.  The Italians are proud of their accessories.

I have a wish list of part and apparel I would like to get, but would like to find the best price if possible.  Please reply with your favorite Moto Guzzi vendor.  Thanks.

twowheel, the demand for Guzzi accessories is so small that there is no reason for a shop to offer any discounts unless it's to sell a whole bike.   Maybe the dealer sweetens his deal for a customer who is on the fence by offering a centerstand at a reduced price.  Otherwise, not gonna happen.  At least you have a local dealer, mine is 75 miles away.

My local dealer is 80 miles away.  Where I live we go 30 miles for a nice meal.  A neighbor is anyone within 10 miles.

Guzzi dealers come and go, it's a business with a very limited number of potential customers. If we value having  them round we need to give them our support. It's cost big $$$ to run their business, salaries, insurance, local taxes, Fed taxes, floor plan fees, utilities, etc. .

The problem is that aftermarket companies do not waste their time tooling up for producing aftermarket items for Guzzis due to little demand. 90% of them do not even list moto Guzzis and yes the factory stuff is ridiculous in price. One example is a tall touring windshield from Moto Guzzi is 600 bucks, Clearview offers the same shield, probably better quality, for less than 200.00.

Some time back a dealer in Oregon, whose name I forget, offered official Guzzi apparel at reduced prices. I got a couple of nice items. But it's been a rare practice, I think.

Because of changes in the law it is now possible for manufacturers to restrict retailers from offering any discounts. That might have restricted the freedom of Guzzi dealers.

There is something to be said for supporting Guzzi dealers -- who are constantly having to sell previous year's models at deep discounts -- by buying some accessories from them. I've done that too. Maybe the "give away razors to sell razor blades" business plan is now Guzzi's only viable plan: Sell bikes at little gain, and recoup the losses via accessory sales.

160 miles round trip can get costly if I have to take my truck to haul the part home.  $65 for a shirt is just crazy and $700 for a leather jacket is insane.  But yes, I try and support my local dealers when I can.  This is not what this thread is about though. 

I could have waited until next spring to buy my Carbon at a reduced price as well, or just bought a '17 left over, but I paid up and got what I wanted.  Fortunately, this dealer sells 13 brands of motorcycles and like Moto Guzzi even though they are not big money bikes for them.  They only take up a fraction of the floor space.

How's your Eyetalian?  I've bought from Motorama.it but you really have to know what your buying because the return shipping is pretty high. 

now if I can just loose 25 lbs my Dianese jacket will fit proper and if I loose all 50 lbs I need to drop I'll have room for a thin sweater (though not in the arms)

I get my Harley branded stuff for much cheaper than I have ever been able to get official Japanese or European branded stuff.  This is why I asked the question.  I've gotten embroidered polos for $10 - $15 on clearance.  Parts at 20-30% off.  Dealers often give away T-shirts for taking a test ride.  One recently gave a $25 gift card for a test ride.

I try to buy Canadian as much as possible... and that usually means "Town Moto"... but they're as expensive as a very expensive thing, so it often makes sense for me to go south of the border, and when I do that, it boils down to First: "who has the item in stock", and if it's more than one, the next criteria is "who's cheapest, all in". It seems, lately, however... that customs is taking a much more intense interest in cross-border ordering... I used to get hit with duties about 1/10. Now it seems more like 4/5.


..also worth adding that I don't wear gear with logos, if at all possible. Just not my thing.

Usually MG stuff is inordinately expensive, but occasionally you d o come across discounted items. Keeping checking your usual suspects, & keep an eye out for the unusual ones. Sometimes a shop dropping the agency sells off accessories cheaply (although there seems to be a trend for dealers to avoid stocking accessories). Search eBay irregularly - you may get lucky. The big European dealers are more likely to have clearance/sale items & TLM & Stein Dinse, at least, have organised cheap international postage. Agostini Mandello has been known to move surplus stock along cheaply, or at least cheaper than usual. There's bound to be more out there than I have tripped across. In the past, I've come across Guzzi jackets being sold cheaply in the U.S. - Italian sizing confuses North Americans, and when the V7 solo seats were selling for E45, I managed to pick up a couple. I recently found a couple of things at Moto International that I thought were cheap, but the international postage was a killer ($85 on a $15 item). And AF1 has some parts cheaper than elsewhere. There doesn't seem to be be any one stop shop for this stuff, you've just got to keep an eye out & let your fingers do the walking.

You don't wear it to advertise for them.  You wear it to let other know what you are into.  Just like people who tattoo, pierce, and wear dog collars. 

I like to wear brands that don't match the ride I am on, or purposely wear Indian or Triumph brands when visiting the Harley shop.  I won't wear Honda though because I don't want to be associated with their automotive branch and find their bikes bland.

Ryan now lives in Vancouver BC and bumped into him during the motorcycle show (another rather lack of) this year.

As for parts pricing...well, every single euro bikes parts are going to be sky rocketing...regardl ess how abundant or not...

But man, it really is that much harder to hunt for a guzzi parts comparing to a...say...BMW parts...You will find 10 decent sellers for BMW before you get a reliable used seller for guzzi...

In some cases H&B or Givi are actually more expensive.   In this case I wanted the SMALL luggage rack that isn't offered from H&B or Givi, and cost less.  Just enough to strap down my small tail bag if needed and I wanted to fill in the gap between the rear of the seat and the tail light.

Just like I don't wear my motorcycle related apparel when conducting business, they cover up when they don't want to advertise what they are into.  But the Tattoos, piercings, etc. say something about them to others like them and allow them to connect.  Just like when I am out and about wearing a Moto Guzzi or Triumph or generic motorcycle shirt tells others what I am interested in and makes me approachable from like minded folk.

Well, for one thing, the OEM rack is more "streamlined" than the H&B, it's a very solid bit of kit, and to me is more aesthetically pleasing, if that can be said about a rear rack. If it cost more, I, at least, would pay the extra.  This is only for the rear rack, mind - all the rest has to be taken on merit.

AF1racing.com is user friendly.  Sometimes they have discounts on old, discontinued, or used parts/accessories.  They have branded parts, but also parts from the Euro vendors.  Agostini's, etc.

Harpermoto.com is a good one.  Long-time dealer with a good website, and a presence here at WG.

mgcycle.com is a good one.  Long-time supplier to the Guzzi community.
