guzzi v7 iii remap +5hp
« on: July 06, 2018, 08:34:26 AM »
Just had my v7 iii remapped and I now have a bike that runs smoothly at the bottom and powers up to the redline, its just better all round.
The first run with the Leo Vince pipes fitted gave 46.25hp and the power just stopped at 6k, which I assumed was because its not fully loosened up. But now it revs to the redline. (please no overevving old git comments, engines are designed to rev to the redline, occasionally...).
The guy showed me the fuel map and it just stopped putting fuel in at 6k.
See the graph below, +5 bro which is pretty amazing.
Anyone in the UK whos interested it was done at BSD in Peterborough.

Dyno costs about £350, and the pipes about the same,
but it’s not really about the +5hp, it’s about the drivability, it’s
just so much better.

Looks like you achieved a nice increase in torque in the midrange . :thumb:

Those are exactly the gains that Pete and Beetle have been achieving , midrange torque increases , the upper end gain is simply a mathematical function . Good stuff . No crazy claims of 80 HP , just a nice repeatable increase .

So I wasn't going crazy when I did felt more "brap" pull after remapping...that 2nd gear felt like 3rd a lot of time now LOL...

While neither Pete nor Beetle make any crazy claims about their performance gains with a Beetlemap and Pete's suggestions about exhaust and such , yes , everyone who follows their instructions do in fact feel a difference .

The fact they don't make wild claims is exactly the reason to listen to them.  When someone doesn't really give a sh&t if you buy their product or not(because it's as much a quest for knowledge as a business for them) and they tell it like it is rather than spouting that PT Barnum crap....that's who you should ask/buy from.  Just my .02

You are wrong. Everything we do will not only make your engine immeasurably more powerful but it will also greatly enlarge your wedding tackle and improve your performance in the bedroom. You will needless to say become incredibly handsome, intelligent and kind and everybody will love you.

My III runs pretty darn well in stock trim. I may do Mistral's next year but leaving exhaust alone for now. Any real gains doing a remap now? Thinking I'll wait until the muffler upgrade happens...
