Thks😃 I've seen the hole saw video but not sure that's the abswer here. The drill bit idea either. The ctr of these mufflers extend outward & you can flashlight all the way through. I'm after a full mellow tone.I like a flowmaster, glass-pack tone on the right 4 wheeler. Not straight pipes.
I had this same Emgo can on my Ryca CS-1 and it was very good. That bike was carbed however. Give it a try. It beats dropping a grand on the Italian ones.
For what its worth, I know a guy who put Leo Vince cans on his V7iii without a remap or anything else and the bike seems to run great. He said he lost 1-2 MPG on the fuel economy but its a good trade off because the appearance and sound are big improvements. These are the Leo Vince pipes made for the V7iii. They dont have a cat, but do have db killers. Im pretty sure he didnt do anything with air injection either, as he can barely turn a wrench.
While replacing the rear tire on my V7III just for grins i slipped on a pair of old Dunstall replicas I got from Dennis Kirk 14-18 years ago.
A bit complicated on the III. OEM cans have a integrated cat converter and air pump system. Changing to any muffler other than OEM requires you block off the air injection and most likely a re-map. Beetle may have a couple for high-end units like the Ago or Mistral but something generic like this will probably take quite a bit of fiddling to get the bike running right. May not be worth the bother just for looks and slightly better sound.
<SNIP>I've run it with and without the baffle. there is a very muted backfire when rolling off the throttle without the baffle installed. It's simply a bit of unburned fuel igniting in the header, nut'n to be concerned bout and can usually be eliminated by blocking of the air injection port. I kind like the sound myself.
