Hello Folks, about 3 years ago, I rebuilt/resealed the engine on my eldo, installing gillardoni cylinders, pulled polished crank, cleaned sludge trap, etc. One thing I didnt do is replacing the con rod small end bushings, and now I am getting the typical slight rattle on the right side, when the engine is "floating".
My plan is to pull the jugs, remove the rods from the crank, and take them to a machine shop to install the bushings in the small ends.
The Gillardoni forged pistons seemed heavier than the stock ones I removed, which I still have on hand along with the old pins, etc. My plan is to do the best I can to "equalize" the weight of the gillardoni pistons to the stock ones, since I will have it all apart. I have read somewhere that you can use VW wrist pins that are lighter than what comes with the gillardonis. What are the group's thoughts on this?
What else can I do to help equalize the weight?
How many grams difference in weight is considered acceptable?
The motor has run about 7 K miles with the Gillardonis, and has excellent compression, and runs great. I just noticed the slightest increase in vibration with the forged pistons, but its not very noticeable, and may just be subjective!

Is there anything else i should be doing/replacing, in this case?
I have ordered from MG the bushings, complete top end gasket set, and new circlips.
Any suggestions/advice , and heads up on anything that would help much appreciated!
