So, you must have bought an early one? If you undo the L/H fairing lower you can get your hand in to pull up the dipstick. OR you could look at the inside of it, there is a circle on the inside molded in to cut out and put a rubber plug in like the later 2V Norges had. There is also a stencil to lay in place to cut the hole. This stuff was widely available 10yrs ago. I did it at the dealers for owners.

its an 07. I was toying around with the idea of dremeling a access hole in the faring and then a trim ring or a plug? Any pics or guidance would be appreciated!

I looked for a part # on the rubber plug for hole and didn't find it. I may have the stencil in my dealer folders that have the Tech bulletins. It may ave P/N on it.

You screw it in, on centerstand.

Just get the extension thing.
I've had one on mine from new.
Visible in this shot, adjacent to left spark plug cap.

The regular dipstick(pull type) screws into any Guzzi BigBlock, level mark may vary according to model & pan set-up. P/N #883144 (4V Norge) and  P/N # 978496 (2V Norge) and oring GU90706178 to seal on block hole.
If you install it after your level is correct just mark it w/scribe.

On the Cali 14s, you check the oil hot, bike straight up, NOT screwed in. The design of the dipstick itself is inexplicably moronic.

Huzo's Red Norge above has had its trailing side panels and its chin fairing removed - like my silver 2007.

Not only does that beautify but I find their removal does make access to its {whatdipshitdesignedthis} oil dipstick a lot easier.

Brief removal of the two little screws on the remaining lower left side panel (circled) provides enough flexibility to reach the stock dipstick.

...And, Huzo, tell us about that cool exhaust!

That'd be "tale" not "tail".

The can is a standard Staintune, but made to 400 mm instead of 500.
dB killer removed, sounds just right.
Pipe is a stainless mandrel bent unit copied from a mild steel pattern I made. From memory, both bends are 110 deg and the radii are 110 mm CLR (bottom) and 90 mm (CLR) top.
Been there for 190,000 k and 14 years.

I also tore the little “chrome” winglet things off, I thought they looked like something off a Korean Kymco scooter.
