Thank you, John. Very, very touching, indeed.
I lost my last 2 friends who fought in WWII last year. Both were 10 years my senior.
An uncle flew Corsairs in the Pacific theater passed 7 years ago. Many never came home. R3~

"Any pilot should fly a Spitfire at least once.." I'm not much of a warbird guy. To me an elephant is a mouse designed by the military..

but.. back in the day the Air Force museum used to let EAA chapters in after hours and sit in the aircraft, etc. The only one that I really liked was the Spit. Nice tight cockpit, everything was where it should be.. good visibility..it just felt right. "Hell yes, I could fly this thing.." "CLEAR"

I have a very large set of .jpgs from apparently a well known WW2 photographer. A military historian gave them to me when he came to look at the Great Lakes project back in the day. If you are interested, I could probably figure out how to send them to you.
