Milano and Rough V7 being discontinued

Went to the dealer today to get the pipes on my V7 Stone repainted under warranty after the paint started coming off, and had a chat with the salesman who was wheeling in a brand new Rough. Then he said they were being discontinued - which surprised him. I was hoping for a look at the new Bobber Sport (which he said looks very nice) but it's not yet available. They had a blue Bobber which was very fetching.

My local dealer put an Arrow Scrambler pipe on the rough.  Looked good.

The Rough and Milano are just styling changes so it is not like the V7 is going away. 

The Carbon Dark should be no more after the 1921 units are produced. 

Of course that doesn't mean they won't come out with a Carbon Light.  They did do a Carbon Shine.   

The V7 Night pack or whatever it is called looks real interesting.  I wouldn't mind getting that light for my bike.

It's a new colour for the Bobber. The tank design is grey. There are pictures of it online. (They now do a Roamer in green.) I thought it looked very nice.

This is part of the Italian sales tact. Produce a "special edition" in limited numbers and then when sales are good produce more and more "special edition" in the coming years until the SE's are in higher numbers than the base model.

The V7R was supposed to be a limited run only in 2011. Still being produced today. Almost everything Ducati model is a SE of some sort.

Its to the point where special editions are nothing special and commonplace.

The small blocks are essentially all the same since their inception around 1978. There is only so many colors of lipstick and hole saws to bore out the V35.

Do you have a link?  I don't see a green roamer or blue bobber on the US Moto Guzzi site.

But maybe they're not coming to the US. In the UK we never saw the yellow Roamer or the V7iii Racer.

I guess you can make an argument that small blocks are essentially the same as they were in 1978, but wouldn’t that then coraspond  the 350 small block in a Chevy from 78 is essentially the same as a 350 s/b found in a 2019 Comaro?   The bones might be about the same, but everything else, not so much.

Rough and Milano. Interestingly, neither bike now appears on the official UK website. Maybe this is not the case elsewhere.

Another thing I discovered from the dealership's mechanic that I had not heard before was the the warranty can be extended by one or two years as long as it's serviced and it's before the existing warranty expires. He said it was around £300 for the two year add-on. I've no idea if this is the case in other countries, but it's certainly an interesting option to consider.

Is the Chevy "Comaro" still being built on the same frame it was in 1968. What about the suspension, transmission and drivetrain?

Oh, I misinterpreted what you meant by small block.   Yes you are right, the Comaro has almost nothing conecting the modern car with its 1960s beginnings.

But just to be clear the 6 speed gear box is all new as of the last few years.

Other than it having 1 more gear its still long throw and agricultural feeling  transmission compared to most other manufacturers transmissions. It's also arguable that the 6 speed is no better than the previous 5 speed nor does it ultimately perform any better.
