The dog is easier to understand than the guy is
Doesn't the dog's mouth almost like it's mechanical? Weird

He doesn't cue the dog to opens it's mouth during the act.  I wonder if it's from training to the gags?

Yeah, something is off. I was wondering if some kind of shock thing was used to open his mouth.
I sure hope not.

Sure, he's a ventriloquist, but.. it's not a bot. No matter how he did it, it gave me a grin. What more can I ask?

The mouth not real, not even sure if the dog is.

As difficult as this thing is to watch (because 90% of the content is closeups of the audience with "WOW!" looks on their faces and a bunch of fake amazement for the cameras), if you turn the sound down and just watch the dog, I believe that the dog is following verbal cues from the routine to open its mouth for a second and close it.

My Jack understands about 60 words, and can detect 20 of them from me spelling them to try to "talk around" him, so I have no doubt that this dog understands.   How the trainer got him to open and shut his mouth, I don't know.   Doesn't sound hard, though, if that's all the dog has to do ....

C'mon, really? Spoiler alert! The dog has a fake lower jaw attached to his chin that the ventriloquist controls...

I had a German wirehaired pointer that was close. Sometimes I think she was trying.. really a bright dog.

Well, that could be.   There are some clever people out there ... but if that IS an artificial jaw, it would be as much trouble to train the dog to never open his real mouth as it would be to get him to open and shut it on command.

OR the whole thing is fake, the audience knows it but puts on an act anyway, and it's a CG image like Fly and Rex talking in "Babe".   It's how "reality TV" works.   Everyone involved knows the survivors or pawn shops or moonshiners or barn finds are just fake and all set up by a production team, but since it's just entertainment, who cares .... ?  A little 'kayfabe' never hurt anyone, as professional wrestling has proven.

I talk to my dogs all the time, and they talk to me.
You just need to be around dogs long enough to know what they are saying.
They can also sense if you are happy, sad, serious, or silly.
Want proof? Ever been sad or sick, your dog will come to you, put their head on your knee, or lap.
They are saying they're there for you.
Bikes are fun, but they are nuts, bolts, chrome and rust.
Dogs have soul, and to them, you are their whole world.

I took MAx to his 1st barn hunt last night. He didn’t hunt but he did get to see and smell a rat. He knew he wasn’t supposed to like the rhodent, but he wasn’t sure why

These schnauzers have an intense hatred for furry rhodents. It’s fun to watch them use thier instinct.
