Last week a buddy called telling me he got a bunch of nice beef fillets and was I interested getting together for dinner. Answer, Yes!
So he's bringing the steaks and I'm taking care of the rest.
To Start we are having burshetta topped with roasted red pepper and spreadable swiss cheese.
Next onto Martini's with jalapeno stuffed olives and salad with blue cheese dressing. And by martini I don't mean any of the of the metrosexual appletini, chocolatetini, dirty-tini or any drink made with vodka and served in a Martini glass. A martini is 2 to 3 ounces of chilled gin in a Martini glass garnished with 2 olives. Nothing more nothing less. Just like Churchill I am okay with a bottle of vermoth in the room at the same time but I prefer it to be on the otherside.
Main course:
Cabrinet wine
Beef fillet topped with gorgonzola cheese
Gulf shrimp with garlic oil and smoked paprika sauce.
Baked potato w/ sour cream and chives
Crab cakes (made w/o mayo)
Baked asparagus with parm cheese
