All we need is Manfredo to complete this group. Everyone else is registered.

PYoung is on a luxury trip in China but will return soon. I'm working on him to go as well.

Might see you guys on the road up there, we are having our annual "New Triumph Bonneville Forum Rally" that weekend in Maggie Valley, NC. You do not have to own a Bonnie to attend and anyone is welcome. Location is the Tanglewood Motel.

I went last year for the first time. I wasn't too impressed. Left Saturday afternoon. Food Friday night and Saturday morning was nothing to write home about. Bland Chili, Pancakes and cold syrup. The facilities are a little long in the tooth as well. Riding was good though. If you want to see 70+ BMW motorcycles it's the place to be. Some nice looking bikes, but I think I'll pass this time.

Amazing how diametrically opposed impressions can be!

Generally don't go for the BMW aspect. I tend to know enough folks to have a rally inside a rally and enjoy the ride as it is usually my first outing of the season.

Lovely country.

I've been thinking about these rallies and maybe we need to cut back on the lavish indulgence of food.

The GMR and the Swamp Scooters rally events have turned into a gluttonous spree of food and more food! We gotta cut back!

Problem is that PYoung is getting back from a week of steamed rice with chopsticks and he'll probably want big food!

Will we have enough Guzzi folks to establish a Guzzi Central camping area?

That will be great.  BMW Rallies are very well organized and well attended but large rallies are just not my cup of tea.  Due to health I'm not going to be able to attend.  However a Guzzie Central camping area would work for me.

Why not just wait until September and come to our North Georgia Guzzi camp out at Two Wheels of Suches? Or do both?

I plan to stop at Willville for the night on Thursday, maybe meet Manfredo there and should be at the rally site on Friday afternoon.

I'm planning on both.

I'm not riding close to 2,000 miles for the food, believe me. (that steak is pretty good however)  ;-T But the camaraderie and the great roads getting to and from the rally make it worth the effort.

I just got back from China, still dealing with jet lag, but I immediately registered for this feast rally.  Bruce, Nick, and I had a great time last year.  Looks like we will have enough Geese in attendance to make a good dent in that pile of steaks, oh, and get in some riding.  I'll be on the Stelvio.

Good to hear about the weather.  Last year it was a tad chilly.  I seem to recall darn near freezing (35F) on Sunday when I headed home.  Thank goodness for heated gear and the Stelvio's huge charging system.  I'm leaving on Thursday, spending the night in Ashville (great craft beer breweries there!), then on to Hiawassee on Friday.  You will see the Big Girl parked on the grass so throw up your tent nearby.

Ha!

For someone I see in the MGNOC newsletter just earned his 250,000 mile badge.   :bow

I have, btw, filed a protest with FW, as I don't think those off-road miles should count.   ;D

Wish I could make it down there, but I am contributing by feeding Nick lunch on his way south.

Best to all.

Bill

The temp in Hiawassee this morning was in the 30's!

Lows in the 40's are predicted for the weekend and highs in the upper 60's-lower 70's.

Folks should bring cool weather gear.
