Is MG Cycle still open for business??? Ordered some parts on 10/06/19. Got a conformation email.. Don't have the parts. No one answers the phone or returns emails!!! Just curious cus they have my money and I need the parts!!!
-
Their last post on Facebook was yesterday.
Sorry but that's all I have.
-
You should have a confirmation email. I think the tracking number is in it. Or log into their web site and go to your account.
Did you by chance order a part that was on back order?

Just go to FB and type in MG cycle in the search bar. I sure liked it when buisness' answered the damn phone!

Just emailed them the other day, response within a few hours. Never had them not answer any phone call. Only time I get incorrect parts is when I order the incorrect parts. Are you calling during business hours? Emailing correct address? I think there's more to the story here...
-
I order hundreds of dollars of parts from MG Cycle every year. I’ve never had the problems you’ve described. Are you sure you haven’t missed something here?
-
They've been around a long time and have always given me good service. Nobody is perfect but they're not gonna run off with your money.

Isn't MG Cycles a one person operation ? If for any reason that one person is out ...

Actually it's 3. But if one third or two thirds of your personnel are gone you know it.

MG Cycle is a solid outfit. I expect they'll fulfill your order as quickly as they can.

 Just ordered from them (month ago) they sent me the wrong part(electrical)----absolutly no return on electrical anything .Sent e-mail got phone call---they took part back BUT credited wrong account---with another phone call I got RICK+ his immediate help, so all is good --except---I did not receive the full order--they will be more than happy to make it right with me or anywon!!! Don't worry 0l' Rick can be a grumpy asshole but good people :boozing: Tell them you know FUBAR, theyal charge you sales tax perhaps

I ordered a bunch of maintenance parts (spark plugs, oils, filters, etc.) for $~450 on Sept 5. The order arrived in a few days, all correct. I buy from them because they're fast, reliable, and their prices compare favorably with other MG parts suppliers.
-
I've ordered *lots* of stuff from MGC.. they're my go to guys. Rick sent me the wrong gasket one time. Another time I received a turn signal lens that had a pre broken tab. It's a delicate thing. Of course, they made it right.
You've either fallen through the cracks (no business is perfect) or *something.* Leave a message politely explaining your issue. Rick and Gordon know their stuff..
-
 NEVER an issue with MG Cycle. Always responsive, never a wrong part.

They've always been reliable with my orders. One of the guys is a bit of a schmuck.

Double check your email or get back on the phone... I can't see them skipping the country for peanuts.
I have spoken to Rick on the phone and besides missing a crankshaft plug in one order (sent afterwards after contact) they have been pretty good unlike a lot of the other bums I have had to endure in this bumpy Moto Guzzi road.
MG Cycle, 13 orders @ US$5280.56 not including post.
You US folk are lucky to have them.
-
I have ordered thousands of dollars in parts from MG cycle for over 10 years. They are my go to guys for Guzzi stuff as well. They have never gotten an order wrong for me, and are reasonable on the shipping costs.
Great folks in my book!
Rick.

All been good between me and them. :thumb:

Quite a while ago, I had put in a very large complicated order with MGCycle picking up parts for a couple of bikes and everything I wanted to address on the G5 which was substantial.
I think it took me almost 3 days, just to put my order together, confusing af.
Shortly after my order shipped, they contacted me, apologized but thought they might have shorted me one caliper, to check my order very carefully when it came in.
They were right, I was short one, they shipped it out to me immediately.
I may have caught the mistake or not.
I was extremely grateful that they were such stand up guys about it.
Very professional outfit.

Wouldn't be easier to just call them about your order? :undecided:

For whatever reason they aren't answering their phone , I've tried twice today . No idea what is happening , guessing by Tuesday we will know something .

I've ordered lots of parts from them. For Quota, 850T, Stelvio, Tenni and 1000S.
Never a problem. 1st class.
Give them a call.

Business hours are only 9 am to 2 pm Central Time on Friday (9 to 5 Monday through Thursday). What times did you try?

Probably after hours . I've always received good service from MG , was just curious .

I've been ordering stuff from them since 2001ish. Found them through this website actually.
I don't know what I'd do if MG or Harpers went away.
Any goofs (rare) have always been set right quickly, that's my experience.
-
Honestly, I don't miss talking on the phone with Rick. For a while I thought I'd done something to piss him off, but that doesn't appear to have been the case. Many years of good service from MGC with one minor mistake that was fixed right away.

Well risking opprobrium from all the other happy MG customers, I thought he was kind of a dick too. I'd always ordered from Moto International or Harpers, but when I needed to rebuild the carbs on the v65, figured I'd give'em a try. Every time I started to ask him a question about the carb, he'd say what's your next part number. Both MI and Harpers would help out if I had a question and if they didn't know, would try to find some one who did. He just wanted to finish the order and move on. When I asked about shipping, he said it cost what the usps charged and he didn't have any options. I never heard of no options on shipping. Anyways, I really miss Moto International. Have a nice day. :azn:

I buy most of my Guzzi parts from MG Cycle except for special stuff that’s come from European suppliers or once or twice NOS from Harpers. I’ve done my business with MG Cycle on line, have never spoken with them on the phone and never had need to do so. Their website is pretty effective.
-
Ok, I know those guys pretty well. Gordon is generally cheery and friendly, Rick (cheesehead) is all business. He's tired of people that call and don't know what they want. I get that. Just the same, one time when I was building the AeroLario I needed some other than standard throttle cables. Rick spent 15 or so minutes going through their inventory to find what I needed. (!) Their time is valuable.
I've also been told, "that won't fit.. are you sure?" Their knowledge is valuable to me.
-
I've bought a bunch of stuff ..gulp.. rebuilding things on my CX and had no knowledge of the Guzzis' going in.
That said I have had very good luck with both MG and Harpers as far as working w/me. I tend to know exactly what I need from the start but when I got tired of banging my knees on the cylinders I decided to seek some assistance for a workable solution.
One of the two guys at MG spent about 15 or so minuets looking thru is parts for the pads/brackets that would do the job (NOS) on the CX. Appreciated and helped save my knees.
Always got quick service and the correct part for the order. (Harpers also).

This. Either Gordon or Rick talked be out of buying one of their German WBO aluminium gas tanks, reasoning that UPS must treat packages like footballs, and every ally tank shows up dented. Went with the steel tank instead. Hassel saved.
Stucchi Carbon fiber fender for my DaytonaRS… Gordon agonized over the parts diagrams to see if it would fit my bike. It was listed for the V11 sport and centauro. We spent a half hour figuring until I said screw it, just send it over. ( point is there was care and concern on their part ). Fit great.

Ordered today and its already shipped. Always done well with mg cycle. :thumb:

I’ve stopped in there a few times and they are asses and elbows, filling orders as fast as they can. It’s rare to find them with down time but if they have time they both will talk. Richard doesn’t suffer fools as they say. You won’t find a better parts source in my opinion.
-
They have been dear friends for 20 years. Both are unique. Rick prefers you to have at least a minimal intelligence level. Then he can relate easily. Both of them are the sole reason why I have over 800k on at least 20 different moto guzzis. Tread gently, my friends! The story always has two sides.

I've dealt with MG Cycle quite a bit over the years. Ordered $200 worth of Stelvio service parts (valve cover badges, oil filters, valve cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets, etc) last month and it's more obvious now than in the past that they are encouraging you to use the on-line shopping feature, where before it was like Mark at MG Classics .... "Gotta Call!"
At any rate, I must be at least intelligent enough for Rick to abide me because I've never had any trouble. On the other hand, I always have my VIN and any available parts numbers ready ....

Only one order from them to date... it arrived perfect, as ordered, and on time, so nothing else to report.
I've placed a couple orders with Harpers, and other than that one time when an order got mislaid, no issues there either. That one time, I called up, asked about order #XXXXXXXX and Curtis went, found it, saw the note as to what was going on, admitted the ball had been dropped on their end by not contacting me about the substantial price increase on the fuel disconnect fitting, and he proceeded to make it all right.
Both are small outfits, but they both try to make the customer happy. I gladly order from either one, and as discussed before, the knowledge they freely provide is amazing.
-
I just ordered a timing chain and balancer and stuff and got a confirmation in a few hours.
-
***** FIVE STARS FOR MG CYCLE ***** Very glad these guys are in business.
-
I have rebuilt a few Moto Guzzi's over the years and have purchased a lot of parts form MG Cycle. I can not think of one single order where they screwed up or shorted me, they have regularly called me to review my order if they thought I may have ordered the wrong part which has happened on more than one occasion, I have screwed it up. Their advice has been invaluable to me. I don't care if they are friendly or not (I have only experienced them to be friendly and helpful), I do want them to help me with selecting the right part for the job which they always do.
I hope they remain in business for a very long time!
-
I miss the good old days when they had time to chat. I suppose that was before web based ordering, now I never need to call.
I usually break work on stuff on Saturdays and order by Sunday afternoon. Like clockwork confirmation of shipment before lunch Monday, parts in hand Wednesday.
I really appreciate that.

I ordered a few things on 10/27, they shipped on 10/28, and I received it 10/31. I'm pretty happy with that, sorry you're having bad luck at the moment though. Based on the replies, I'm sure it will be sorted shortly...

One of the things I'm thankful for at thanksgiving is MG Cycle

Who remembers when MG Cycle was at the old gas station before moving to the new town and building"out by the airport"? It looks like they have doubled the size of the new building. The last time I was there they didn't even answer the door. Only Cheesehead was there and I guess he was busy.
How many are aware that some dealers order parts from MG Cycle?
Tex
-
I not only remember the old gas station,Rick used to work on my bike for $35/hr.He has gotten kind of crabby over the years but he has plenty of customer stories thatseem to hve nudged him in that direction.
-
I've dealt with MG Cycle since 2005. I probably have 50 separate orders over that time, and a rebuild of every single wear part on my '85 LM 1000.
I've simply never had incorrect parts, nor a shorted order in that entire time. I've never had to wait long enough to catch my attention, either.
Nobody operates a business without something falling through the cracks sometimes. If this is your first order with them, that's double bad luck; but I'm sure by the time you read my anecdote, you've realized that it's not expected nor incurable.

 Well,MG cycle mailed me the rest of my order that was missin----I figure $2.50 for a .40cent gasket +$11.00 shippin when it cost me $3.00 to return a part,I deserve to bitch---so,I e-mailed+ got one back---Rick said he remembered puttin it in the box so for me 2 recheck the packaging ,RIGHT---well I'll have to eat crow now cause Rick was correct, now I'll have to take back all those terrible things I said about him(except him bein a TROUD-ZEE-CUR) thats French of course!!!
MG is a great company to deal with----if they tend to get under your skin just wait it out a couple days+ try agin(bourbon helps)!!! Now I have to send an e-mail-----anyone know what CROW tastes like :boozing:

Today I received everything I ordered from MG Cycle four days after ordering online.
A timing chain, a banana vibration damper, crush rings, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket, spare clutch cable, and some crush washers.
Also from other sources I received a stop n go tire plugger kit, a set of stubby wrenches, mini 12V air pump, and a Guzzi Sticker for the car.
I will be ready to have the G5 break down anywhere as soon as my shorty 24mm wheel nut spanner gets here from the interior of Cathay.

I have ordered a lot of parts (I own ten Guzzi's), which has cost me a lot of $$$ during the last four years from MG Cycle and Harpers. I am still learning a lot about my bikes, and I do need to talk to someone in person every now and then about a probably stupid question to them, but it's something important for me to find out. I like buying from MG Cycle, and I will do so in the future, but I at times bought from their competitors since I either couldn't get someone from MG Cycle on the phone to answer my questions, or I just didn't feel like talking to Rick. For me, at the end of the day, good customer service is more then just shipping an online placed order. On the other hand, maybe business is so good that doing it your way, and thereby loosing possible current or future customers or their orders is acceptable, which in that case, good for the company or business that can operate doing it their way.
