We have had snow on the ground for a week in temperate Seattle. About a foot at my house and it is snowing RIGHT NOW!

On the other hand, February 11th is about as deep and dark into winter as you get in the Northern Hemisphere.

Now if it were APRIL 11th and the weather was still behaving like this, that would be another thing.

The "Groundhog Day" thing, about IF the groundhog sees his shadow, we've got six more weeks of winter, is I say it's a joke son.   You've got six more weeks of winter if he doesn't see it, too ... !! :azn:

Wow , you have more snow than we do in Me.  I'm not complaining , just saying. Something tells me you'll see spring a lot sooner than we will. :thumb:

Jan. & Feb. are like this here...but by March...it will all be over.  The Christmas rose in my front yard has already bloomed...and unlike that fat woodchuck from PA...that is one sure sign of spring! :thumb: :smiley: :cool: :wink:

We have that for a LOT longer-but I wouldn't care if I was in AZ.  You can bundle up, get a nice scotch, sit on the porch and look at the mountains all day.
Here, in Buffalo, not so much!

Yes, even in winter time, the scenery is pretty spectacular here in Red Rock country...and the snow never last more than a few days because we get 300 days of sunshine per year - more than California and Florida! :cool: :wink:

Yea.......Came south to get away from the white stuff.  Predictions are for snow here in Tombstone tomorrow.......how much farther south do I need to go?? :violent1:

spring is around the corner! i killed 2 spiders and some little iritating brown bug that was crawling on me thursday. unfortantly ticks and chiggers will be here too soon!

Thanks, JJ!  We have a chance of rain here too, but this being Phoenix it will rain across the street and I'll be able to sit in my drive and watch without feeling a drop. :thewife:

Last year it felt like we had 65 days of sun and 360 days of rain. Hoping for a change in 2019.

Pretty pictures. I always thought the desert with the red brown dirt and some snow looked nice.

Yep its been beyond terrible in Alberta this winter, day after day below -30C that's why I went to Baja for February,

11 degrees 40 miles north of Wichita this morning. Tomorrows forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow. Winter is still here and not going anywhere.

I noticed I-40 was closed much of the day, yesterday, between AZ-95 and Williams.  They had a pretty big mess at Kingman.  Couple feet of snow!

Wednesday we drove up with a group to Sunflower AZ for the scenery.  Thursday this road pictured, was closed because of deep snow.

I-17 is currently closed from AZ-179 north to I-40.

And, a long stretch of AZ-89a is closed from I-17, halfway to Sedona.

Phoenix is surrounded by mountains covered in .....snow.  To get away from that visual I went to the Arabian Horse Show held at West World (Barrett-Jackson).  Can you remember the movie Ben Hur?

We had -15F and 60F one week apart this month, according to our little airport wx station. Right now, it's blowing 50.  :shocked:
