Stelvio - one cylinder
« on: May 23, 2019, 02:05:21 PM »
Hey all, the other day I started up to leave a breakfast joint and something didn't feel right. It felt like it was only firing on the left cylinder. I shut it back down, gave everything a tap, tried again, and it worked just fine. Knowing that I'm not the best mechanic in the world, is there anything I should check? Bike only has about 5000 miles.

Spark plug wires/caps were a known issue.  Maybe Leafman60 will chime in with the NGK replacement part.

Double down on the connection issues. My Stelvio had a secondary wire NEAR the coil and drove me nuts with misfire, bad idling etc. Yes it is a PITA to remove the covers the first time but I'll bet your issue is similar to mine. Good luck. :bike-037:

Thanks guys, I'll look into it. I know my aux lights are good, as AF1 had taken care of that before they sold it to me. I definitely haven't ridden as much as I was hoping since I got it in Sept, but it definitely caught me off guard the other day.

I'm also going to try a new map to go with the Mistral I put on. It's not terrible, but I definitely feel like it could be better. The mistral sounds better than stock when underway, but has an odd little puff/chuff noise when idling. Honestly, neither the Norge I had, nor this Stelvio sound as good as the v7 with mistrals on it.

Did a repair on a Stelvio some years ago and it turned out to be a defect injector. You could try to take both out and check that both gives a nice spray.
