New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Sorry , I just see an old junk car providing a nesting place for rats that had probably leaked most of its fluids onto the street . Dusty
No WAY did the tires on that thing have air in them after 25 yrs, no way.
I don't know; I think it's possible. We had a two-wheeled David Bradley garden tractor that my Dad bought before I was born. He replaced the original cleated tires with auto snow tires when I was 5.I used that tractor until 2013; I was the only one using it, and I never put air in the tires. When we let it go when we sold my Mom's farm, the same air was in the tires that had been there since 1965 .... 48 years by my calculation.A friend of mine had a '67 Cadillac Fleetwood that he only drove in parades. In 2015, I asked him whether he could still find gas that would burn in it. He said "I don't know; I've been running the same tank of gas since 1992". They sho' don't make gas like that anymore!Lannis

I actually LOVE stories like this, and have few of my own! My most recent favorite was a '69 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 that I dragged home from a farmer's field about 15 yrs ago. He advertised it for $500 with grainy photos and sparse info, but I thought for $500, I can part it out and make $$ (that logic has been the downfall of many men greater than me...).Drove over 2 hrs to get it, and it turned out to be SO rusted out that I was actually afraid to touch it for fear of it dissolving or my getting tetanus. Seller was weird and kind of severe (and this was on a dirt road in the middle of NOWHERE), to the point that I thought I'd better just follow thru and see if I can actually get it home.It had sat there for over 20 yrs, the guy wasn't quite sure. And yes, there was air in the tires! So I hooked up my tow-bar and flat-towed it at 45 mph all the way home, expecting any minute for a tire to blow or a spinning driveshaft or wheel bearing to seize. You couldn't sit on the driver's seat for fear of it falling thru the floor, and the rear leaf spring shackles had been replaced with blocks of wood wired into place. I had to lie to my wife about how much I paid for it.The carb was full of bees nest shards and there was no air cleaner. So I swapped on my GOOD carb off my running Landcruiser of similar vintage, put in a battery, dumped 5-gal of gas into the tank (tank didn't leak!), AND THE DAMN THING STARTED RIGHT UP AND PURRED LIKE A KITTEN! I braced the underside of the driver's seat with 2x4 cross-beams and drove it around the yard, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HIGH AND HARD, WITH NO LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM, something un-heard of with this model in the best of condition. So yes, I will grant you that the caddie's tires may have held up, but the smart $$ would bet that someone added air over the years.I advertised the Landcruiser on ebay when I concluded that no-way was I going to try to salvage such a rustbucket, advertised it accurately, and some pigeon from TX bought it for $800 and had it shipped there. I actually made money (on paper).
I actually LOVE stories like this, ....
Used to like hearing my buddies say "oh, were stuck now" Then I'd laugh and drove off.
