I like to include my phone number.  I want to give serious buyers the opportunity to connect right away.  Spammers are no big deal - hang up.

My point was by the time I got to engage in a couple/first email conversation bike was sold. Simple/quick phone call seems to work.

True, but that probably means someone else started the email through Craigslist conversation before you did, and got to the point of a telephone conversation while you were still emailing.

So, if the phone number was published, that other person may have already sealed the deal before you came along and now the seller has to deal with telling other folks, "I have someone coming today, give me your information and if it doesn't sell I will give you a call."

When there are true deals out there, you really have to be Johnny on the spot because true deals don't last long.  I remember when a coworker of mine found a car on craigslist at what he considered a too good to pass up price.  As soon as he contacted the person he left work and beat everyone else to it.

I saw it as a fair price for someone who was actually looking for a Griso, but not a price that would have me buy it to experience a Griso.

You really need to be on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace every day so you don't miss out.

I was hoping to see you on it at Fall Creek Falls next weekend.

It's a double edged sword... I just posted my wife's former junker car on craigslist-- and for the first time included my phone number in the add with a request that buyers TEXT me only...  What a pain in the ass that was.  Shocking that so so many people are dying for a $1800 car, that they absolutely blew up my phone for 3 days before I could get cash in hand and signature on the title.  Only one scammer tho... The rest were mildly insane people who didn't/barely read the ad.

It was more convenient for me so far as I didnt have to check email constantly for replies...  But I sure didn't like my phone dinging 15x/day for the entire weekend. At one point I had a waiting list 6ppl deep for this little POS 2003 Neon. Some people were downright angry that I wouldn't show the car on a Sunday, when there was no place to get the title notarized.  For $1800 im deff not going to meet you multiple times for viewing, test drive, and then to swap the title!

This is (was) my bike.

tl;dr - "The bike has sold.  Factory-rollerized.  Dunno about the headers, all fueling & exhaust is stock. Sorry if I didn't respond to your inquiry"

I bought it new at Rider's Hill in March 2014 (BBQ, that may have been me).  Traded in a 2011 Street Triple and rode it home in freezing rain.  After three months of regular riding life took over (marriage, spine surgery, two babies) and it has largely sat since.  The Rizomas, Arrow can, and dynojet i bought still sitting up on a shelf (sold those to).  Damn shame.  It was a joy to ride and fun to talk to folks about.  Hope the new guy gets more out of it.

I listed it low to get it sold quick.  I've had some frustrating experiences selling "niche" bikes in Nashville (all Harleys and GSXRs here).  After agonizing over letting it go for years, I just wanted the process to be as quick and painless as possible.  Typically I would post it on a forum like this in advance, to let those in the know see it first.  But again, I wanted to move it quick and not deal with an out-of-state buyer, or the comments section.  Even with the squids, Craigslist is easier.

Within a day I met with an old Guzzi/Euro dealer here in town that I'd heard about in my Triumph days.  (Sonny Collier, who also has a 2017 Griso.  Not sure if he's on here, but if you ever get the chance to talk to him take it.  Awesome dude.)  He looked it over and I agreed to sell it to one of his clients/friends.  I have not taken down the ad until today, because the transaction hadn't been truly finalized.  Again, sorry if I didn't respond to your inquiry.  But by "Hi. Does it have the flat tappets. Thx." email 17 of 33, I stopped responding to any.  I tried to get on here knowing Brian had posted the listing, but didn't get cleared until this AM.

Anyhow, perhaps you'll have another member soon.  Wish I'd had the chance to share insights and ride with some of you.  Maybe when I get my next Griso......

I check Craig's and Facebook early before the sun rises and several times while at work.

Yes, if i snatched the Griso I would have rode her to Fall Creek Falls but at this time I think I'll be riding the Breva.

Thanks for all the info and yes, I was one of the folks who emailed you early in the morning hours. Wish I could have scored the Griso but guess it wasn't in the card for me at this time. I do hope who ever got her will enjoy!

I meet Sonny years ago when he had his shop in Nashville. I went there to pick up a few parts for my '75 Norton Commando and sitting in his shop was this white '86 IV Lemans and i thought I had to have her! The next day I meet Sonny at his home and took the Lemans out for a jaunt and 20 or so years later she still sits her her stall here.

thanks again ! Brian

Check that one out carefully when I was at the amca meet in new Smyrna handing out riding into history information some guys from Nashville were extremely interested at the steering stop block on mine as they were working on a damaged griso can't remember names but possibly from former Nashville dealer no vicious intentions on my post but something to be aware of

I’m sure that was for Sonny’s 2017 Griso. They’re rebuilding it now. Said someone stopped short on him. Sheered the stop block down the middle.
I can assure you it was not this bike.

That’s me. Shame we didn’t meet and ride a bit. But it was getting dark and I had to get to Chattanooga before the real rain hit.

Sorry it didn’t work out. Would have loved to have sold it to someone like yourself. And heard more about that Lemans!

I actually don’t think these look too bad even.  I’ve seen worse.  Where?  On the red devil I used to own.  I tried various means to return them to some semblance of acceptable appearance and never could.  I eventually had to just give in and have them coated.  In my case, it was due to a shitty and cheap aftermarket can the original owner ran on the bike for several thousands of miles; it was basically an open exhaust.

Here's my '15 Rosso Trophy. 30k miles, stock exhaust and stock map. Pics don't do them justice. They're beautiful.
It's criminal what the wrong exhaust can do...
