2007 norge no start blown fuse
« on: June 04, 2026, 05:50:39 PM »
Had a no start/nocrank event on my 07 norge today. It turned out to be a blown fuse in the status interuptus circuit. 15 amp fuse was renewed and bike seems to start ok for now. Is the 15amp fuse appropriate? What fuse was recommended? Have ridden lots of miles and never experienced this I'm looking for a path forward

Sounds like you are borderline with that fuse rating, when an unusual event occurs. Personally, I'd move to a 20A and keep 25A as a value of "last resort".
What's the mileage? You might ask what caused more current to be needed - worn/sticky starter motor brushes for example. A "sticky" starter motor will need/draw significantly more current than one in good condition. Your bike battery should be capable of delivering 10 times that amount for a short duration (cold cranking current).  Check that you have good connections at the starter motor, particularly to frame/engine ground.

I am not familiar with the starter interuptus circuit but going to a larger fuse is never a fix, especially if that fuse is rated for higher amperage than the wire because it defeats the purpose of preventing electrical fires.  If the 15A fuse worked for years do not go larger.
