98 EV regulator replacement

I purchased a new regulator for my EV and its supposed to be the "improved" version with direct-to -battery power. The problem is that I have no clue how to hook it up. Anyone have one like this? I'm assuming the red and green wires on the new are thre power sources. The red has a 20 Amp fuse so it goes to the battery? Does the green then go to the old plug in ?
Here are the pics of the old and new.
I also emailed the company to see if they have a diagram for the modifications in the wiring that need to be done.

It looks like ....
Green to ground, and red to battery.
BUT, that alternator can put out over 20 amps. So why would it only have a 20 amp fuse. Something fishy there.

Hmmmmm....
What would be done with the center wire FROM the bike??? That was the original power source. There are 2 wires from the regulator on that one plug.
Here's the company's info on this unit. Perhaps I should reorder with the one that has the same plug-ins.....

You can use the power wire not used for the voltage reg as a power source wire. GPS, power plug or heated gear or whatever.
