New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Could it be the others that did the conversion used the Breva rotor? Same w/the rubbers?
Yes, I'm concerned if my V7C rotor, and it's stock mount will fit a breva rotor on a breva wheel.
Maybe you should rephrase that Dusty
to fit Breva wheels to my 2012 V7R I have to remove two small shim washers on the front caliper to get things to line up. On the rear I had to take about 1/4" off the inner spacer and add it to the outside. Basically more the wheel to the right. You can also buy specific Breve spacers and axles for less than $100 to make it plug and play.
pics might help.
Ha! I just had the opposite problem as you...2014 Stone cast wheels on a 2009 V7C that was already converted to Breva wheels: http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=85881.0Here's what you'll need (pre 2012 parts):rotorcalipercaliper mountspeed sensorAll proper mounting bolts for these partsA speed bleeder is also helpful for bleeding the brakes. M8x125 Is that all for the rear wheel? Does the front caliper/rotor fit as-is?My cush drive rubbers did transfer over to the Stone wheel. Maybe they are different, or maybe I did something right OR wrong to get them to fit.I also used the original axle and spacer from my Classic for the Stone wheel. The Breva wheel axle and spacer is different than the classic (the thicker part of the axle that also serves as a "stop" for the caliper carrier is a little longer, and so is the spacer. You'll also have a large gap between the front wheel and fender due to the 17" wheel. I can write up what I did for that issue later.I'd suggest trying your bike with just the Breva front wheel and making sure you like it. Steering is quicker, but you loose some stability at higher speeds.Hope this helps.
Quote from spadefoot:"Is that all for the rear wheel? Does the front caliper/rotor fit as-is?"That should be everything for the rear wheel. A search on Harper's website shows the axel and cush drive rubbers being the same between the Classic and the Stone. As far as the front goes, as long as you have the Marzocchi forks, the front wheels, rotor, caliper will bolt right up. If you have the Kaifa fork (I believe they started using them on the V7 mk II variants) then you will probably need all of the above parts.Ken
I wish I could use the existing rear caliper and mount plate with the Breva disc... I wonder if it's just a matter of fabbing up the mount plate?
Well, the breva wheels were cheap, and I "thought" it was a direct swap.
I had the same thing! The Stone wheels were cheap, and I thought it was a direct swap as well. Ken
