Shim washers used on a Tonti 5 speed speedometer drive

Does anyone know of any reason why these hardened shim washers would not work on the speedometer drive? Mine had one missing and the one that was left measured 6m x 12m x 1m, the same as these. These are very hard, like 85 rockwell C. Maybe they are too hard.

If it's the same size, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
The washer you're referring to just keeps the gear from wearing into the case.

You get the prize mtiberio. And you too Antietam. And the prize is-- my respect, which is pretty much worthless. I had thought about having a quiz as to where these came from, but changed my mind before posting.
I had read that they are so impossible to come by and it turns out - no they are not.
