any lighter rotors out there for Lemans IV?
« on: May 02, 2018, 12:26:25 PM »
I'm tired of my instant-rusting boat anchor rotors that squeak like mad everytime I get to traffic lights

Anyone know of any upgrades?

found these at hmb

http://hmb-guzzi.de/Brake-Disc-front-rear-270-mm-outer-ring-LM-1000-Cali-3-SP-3-etc-stainless

but apparently they weigh about the same as stock

any ideas?

Or are there any 16" japanese front wheels out there that could be swapped in fairly easily?

Would love to lose some unsprung weight esp up front

If you're trying to lose in spring weight, there is a dymag wheel on eBay.
That 16 inch hoop weighs a ton.

I prefer iron rotors over stainless.

I have those you referenced on my SPIII.
They weigh a ton, each, rust, the surfaces are heavily pitted and just found this week 2 huge radial cracks in one disc.
They squeal horribly with standard pads. The surface just glazed up. I am using a. Sintered pad which greatly improved stopping, stopped squealing and not obvious differences in wear rates.
The discs are 5 years old and have done 50000km with winter riding also.

If you go with a bigger rotor, you'll need adapters as well. see old add:
