V7 III Pilot Bulb

Does anyone know the size of the headlight pilot bulb? The small one under the headlight. I know it is a 12V 5W, but is it a T10 or 2821 etc? I was thinking about changing it to an amber color.

It looks like a common #194 bulb to me.

Chethro -- 194 LEDs are common as dirt.  SBL shipping is more expensive than the bulb.  Your local AutoZone has what you need.

I assume the v7III and v9 have the same set up, and which I don't understand why it is set up as so.

By calling it a "pilot" light, I'm guessing that is what would commonly be called the "parking light" where I'm from.   On my B1100 the "pilot light" and tail light can be activated by turning the ignition to "parking" on the ignition.   This position illuminates the two lights, but nothing more.

However, with the v9, there is no "parking" designation on the ignition switch.  In order to illuminate the "parking/pilot light" along with the tail light the ignition must be switched on, powering up everything that goes along with starting, why?

ACC -- its been a year since I visited AutoZone so missed the price jump.  Wow.  Even the same-base 168s are expensive.  I bought no-name not brand-name Sylvania.  What a difference.
