Neutral light flickering on my 09 Norge

First decent day here in Ohio, so I fired up my new to me Norge and the neutral light is flickering, sometimes off and sometimes on for a bit.  Any ideas where to look first?  Much appreciated.  BTW I personally have electrical demons that follow me, so I hope I didn't ask for trouble by getting an Italian bike...

Just a guess; Thoroughly clean your grounds and see if it helps.

Tighten the connection on the back of the transmission.

Does it flicker in gear or while in Neutral?

It only flickers while in neutral.

Probably just a dirty contact in the gearbox then, test it by jumpering to chassis at the gearbox end, it should go on steady, if it still flashes it's at the light end. Actually when I look I see it goes into the ECU, I doubt it would be the problem.

I'm not sure where the switch is located on the Norge, others it's behind the starter. I'm sure someone will post a photo.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to remove and clean it without draining the oil.

My 2012 Norge did the same thing & it was just a loose connection on the switch. It's very difficult to get to though, on the rear right side of the tranny, right up against the frame. I just pressed down on it firmly with a long screw driver and turned it back & forth a few times & that did the trick.

Sort of above where the drive shaft comes out of the rear of the transmission. Very hard to get to.

Sits under the airbox, easy w/very long pair of needle nose pliers. Crimp closed a bit on female connector and slide back on. It is also under a rubber boot I think.
