California 1400 exhaust baffle removal

Anyone out there tried removing the baffles from their stock exhaust canister? Is the process difficult, and does the sound improve, or is it a waste of time? I love the look of the stock mufflers, but wanted something a bit louder, trying to avoid 1100 bucks for the la franconi. Peace out.

They spent a lot of time balancing that and tuning the bike to those pipes. Don't F it up by messing with it.

I think the smooth. quiet ride is the 14's best attribute, especially on a long trip. But if you feel differently Todd at Guzzi tech has some options.

The stock mufflers cost way more that $1100.00 if you decide you made a mistake.

Apart from making the bike offensively loud if the dB killers are removed I ave to say that I don't think the Lafanconni pipes, or the Ago ones actually sound very good. IMHO any 8V tends to sound harsh and slightly? *Shrill* is the term that comes to mind, when running louder pipes. It screws up the fueling too and the ECU seems to have trouble trimming to them. Doesn't help the idle either as it obviously makes the spark management harder. I'd hazard a guess the same will be true of you just vandalise the stock system.
