New toy for the shop

I sold off my Lincoln Easy Mig 280 and Miller Ac/Dc Thunderbolt stick welder for this new ESAB Rebel 3 in one unit.

This is a 110/220V MIG / TIG / Stick

The easy to follow chart inside the side cover tells you what to set the digital controls to for wire speed, voltage and amperage, you can store the MIG settings and recall them latter.

Wow! is it easy to use, I welded two thickness of steel pipe to steel washers, followed the settings, turned on the unit and it welded without splatter, with deep penetration, no fuss at all!

A little bit of grinding and the weld is done.

Looking forqard to trying out the TIG, I bought the foot pedal for TIG welding.

For stick weldiong the digital display promts you for the rod type and diameter and the thickness of the steel you are welding.

It also takes a spool gun for aluminum.

It comes with a 110V patch cord, a Victor regulator and Tweco Tog Gun and rod holder.

These have been selling out as fast as dealers can get them on the shelf, I waited two months to get mine.

This is a lot of welder for under $2K and a 2 year warranty.

Looks similar to my Boc (rebranded Kempai) 175. I see yours has more hp.  being a 215. Sounds as though the electronics in yours have made a quantum leap as well.

I am really happy with mine. So far I have only used the stick but it is beautiful to use. I have decided to go the disposable 2.2kg gas with mini regulator for the Tig. Already have  CO2 bottle for the Mig but need an adapter.

That chart on the side looks useful! :thumb:
