Fuel filter
« on: May 31, 2016, 01:19:27 PM »
This filter looks pretty clean compared to the intake screen. My son's Jackal sat for a year outside under a tarp while he was on active duty. I changed the fuel filter and pump. The tank looks OK. I need to change a couple of hoses before I try to start it.

Nice surgery on that filter cannister.

I wonder why they put that big hex on the end if it's not designed to be taken apart ?
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Check the little drain hole underneath the recessed fill cap, they have a nasty habit of plugging off and sending
rain/wash water into the tank, a sod to fix.

The filters very clean, the one on my EV was so plugged up the fuel was unable to get to the injectors, it would run for a while then just bog down I back flushed it at the KOA in Denver
then again when I got back to BC, the photos show the BC flush, I bet there was 5 times as much came out the first time.

This is all caused by the moat drain plugging off to sent water into the tank.

I'll take the question seriously -- it's to put a wrench on to hold the can while you unscrew the fittings.
