Norge Fuel Line Snipe Hunt SOLVED with a MORAL to the story!

Has anyone found available for purchase either:
A- Factory replacement part for the submerged fuel lines in the Norge gas tank.
B- a suitable aftermarket replacement.

My original hose was not happy at filter changing time so  I bought what was purported to be correct hose to replace it. A week later the hose blew off the pump at start up and had gotten all mushy. Bother.
Now the bike sits, a million dollars waiting on a nickel!

You need Gates 30r10 SUBMERSIBLE fuel line (Amazon.com  you MIGHT be able to find local in Raleigh, I couldn't in asheville)

you need otiker clamps (Amazon or a homebrewer's supply or plumber's supply may have them)

you need an otiker crimp tool OR a "CV Joint Boot Crimping Plier" from advance auto

Since I have been down the road of needing fuel line inside the tank of a Norge I will offer this advice:

DO NOT DAMAGE THE ORIGINAL LINE!

I figured that in a technologically advanced civilization it would be a breeze to get some submersible hose, a few clamps and be right as rain. Wrong. :wife: That kind of hose is not just waiting to be picked up at the parts store. Not to mention it can NOT do the required 180 degree bend needed. Did I mention that the lines inside the tank are not available except with the whole pump assy? Sucks.
So here is the moral of the story:
BEFORE you go to change your Norge fuel filter get the correct Oetiker clamps (NAPA 730-4992) and the Oetiker tool:

You need Gates 30r10 SUBMERSIBLE fuel line. Any hose that is less like an r9 or r6 will swell and deteriorate and leave you stranded. There are some plastic ones available that look like thin long fork boots but I don't recall who was selling them.
I used the gates on my calvin and 6 months in so far so good. I also moved the filter out of the tank because it is a pain in the ass to remove the whole fuel pump assembly.

Just as a side note, I used regular old hose clamps and there has been no problem for the last five years.

I used these clamps because I read they don't cut into the fuel line like the regular clamps and they provide a more uniform fit around the hose.

That's because Guzzi doesn't sell it as an individual part, they only sell the compete fuel pump/filter/assembly.  Guzzi part numbers are about what they sell as parts, not what parts the bikes contain.

That corrugated plastic hose looks just like the stuff I just had in my hand while replacing a Ford Taurus pump.  It was 12 years old and still in perfectly usable condition.  And for those who know what a pain it can be to replace a car's in-tank pump, the car now has a nice access port with a gasketed and removable cover under the back seat, and a spare pump in the trunk.

I had a similar experience. I got a bit of hose that came with the filter. Did not work. Went to NAPA to buy submersible hose. Gave me the wrong stuff. Moto International sold me a bit of BMW fuel line, and that has done the trick. I hope I never have to remove that pump again. If I could do it over, I would have paid to have the shop do the fuel filter. What a pain.

Some fraction of people who remove their fuel tanks will manage to snap off the plastic quick-release elbow for the fuel line.  Moto Guzzi doesn't seem to sell a replacement fitting (they'd much rather sell you a whole fuel pump assembly), but that doesn't mean that you can't obtain one.  The Aprilia part number is FUA30000.  It's not so easy to find in the USA, but Guzzibits (UK) has it and will ship to the States.
