On the Stelvio NTX you will find upside down forks. The male part is attached to a cast fitting which incorporates mounts for brake caliper, axle, and front fender. The male part appears to be a press fit into said casting. Am I correct in thinking that it's press fitted? Guzzi only sells the part as an assembly and when I tried to unscrew the part nothing budged. My problem is that it is possible to rock the chrome cylinder in that casting, ever so slightly. I can actually see fluid moving in that joint. This appears to be the source for the fork oil leaking on that leg. Unless I am missing something the only solution is a new part....about $460. Any ideas? I'm not going to take a chance on a part from a wrecking yard!

Oh, and this means I will not be taking the Stelvio on my 2 week trip starting Sunday. My trusty V7 get the nod this time.
