I have a `81 CX100.  This wannabe doesn't have the original fairing/headlight, dash, or the lower fairing, and probably 111,000 miles on the motor, since it just keeps on rotating.  BTW, that original seat feels like a 2X6  piece of wood when you sit on it for more than 30 minutes.  If the original fairing, dash, are in such great condition, why were they replaced?

As far as comfort, yes.  They split your cheeks, if nothing else.

Never been around the block on one. My Mk 2 came with a brand new curvy styled thingy, I've seen lots of them but don't know what they're standard on. Still have the tidy original but won't use it.

I have news for you, the only difference between your LM II and a CX100 is the motor.   Everything else is the same when new.  Your LM II had a 850 motor and the CX had a 949 motor.  In the USA your 850 motor wasn't clean enough to pass our stringent pollution test.  So over here the CX came with the SP motor instead that could.   In Canada they also got the LM II.  The LM II you bought apparently had an aftermarket seat.

:1:  He's really a laptop set on auto-response.      CX's came with the square slide carbs.  Both the '80 & '81 that I have don't have those carbs.

The `80 and earlier CXs had square slide carbs.  The `81 had round slide carbs.  I've had my `81 since `84 when it had. 6,000 miles on the odometer.   When new the intake manifolds were rubber elbows.

My '81 must be a transitional model.  It has square ones.

Ugly is why I removed mine.

I still have the original seat and it's fine for around town, add some beads or a pad for long distance. Had a Gaman seat for like a week, then I ditched it as it was as hard as a rock.

My 81 had 30mm round slides and the clocks are in km with plastic lenses.

I have those black intakes on my CX now.  They're made out of Delrin and are not really designed to support the carb. weight, so I have mine supported by long/thin black zip ties wrapped to the above frame. Believe I got  mine from MG Cycle.  :azn:
