I read somewhere it could possibly have been the speed sensor got wet and tossed the code?
Yup, sounds like water in the speedo sensor/ or their connection/s too to me. ABS or non ABS model.Pete
In the case of dashes getting moisture build up, I'm thinking it would not be a result of heavy rain riding. Something probably did get a bit of rain into it and lit the triangle. Possibly some external switch or sensor. Maybe give the sidestand switch a checking? If the light is out, just go ride.. You might want to:Get into the diagnostics screens on your dash and see if it held any sort of code? There will be two areas for codes. ECU and Dash. The code to get into the diagnostic screens on my Breva 1100 was 36421.
THE RED TRIANGLE: Mine shows that every once in a while. I let the engine warm up, then shut it off and start again. Sometimes it goes out. if not I ride the bike for a short distance to the first stop, and stop and start it again. that will always reset it.
My 2008 1200 Sport will infrequently present the red triangle symbol once I (a) turn on the ignition (b) permit the dash to go thru its start up routine of analog needles moving (but before I hit the starter button.) In my case, I believe it is a defective oil pressure sensor that must be stuck in the wrong position. I really need to break down and replace it.This begs the question. Can anyone describe the sequence performed by the ECU prior to hitting the starter button? What sensors are being checked, and in what order? And if not the oil pressure sensor, what other sensors might 'light up' the triangle prior to actual engine startup? Thanks,Bob
Cost obviously.
