NGC - First ride of 2019 (very short)
« on: March 15, 2019, 02:06:24 PM »
Yesterday, I started the day by moving the CB1100 and Guzzi 1200 Sport onto the driveway so I could sweep out the accumulated leaves and dirt that had littered the garage since last fall.  I can almost stand to look at the garage now!

The Guzzi is getting a bit too heavy for me, so instead, I put on boots, jacket, gloves and helmet and took 'black beauty' out for 15-20 miles. Just around the neighborhood, but she felt really nice. Started right up after sitting for 3+ months. I really appreciated the feel of the lighter fork springs, Race Tech emulators, and Ikon rear shocks a riding buddy of mine and I installed last season.  It's taken a while, but I'm beginning to appreciate this bike.

The CB is rated at only 88hp, and is slightly on the heavy side, but carries it low.

Cold and wet today, so I'm glad I took the opportunity for even this short ride.

Nice! Lucky you. Still digging out from this weeks' bomb cyclone so no riding at least for a few days here.

Those first rides of the year are always so refreshing!!  It was a pretty darn nice day yesterday for upstate NY in mid March..  solid in the 60's and sunny. No riding for me though. Still haven't gotten the new bike plated yet..  Soon though. But thats really OK... roads are still pretty wet, pot holed, and salt/sandy... So i can wait a bit more..

Plus, there remains so much salt on the roads it looks like they have been painted white!

Ya big time!!  And a pothole took out a tire on my car the other day to boot!  Well the time will come soon...  Sadly NY only offers bike reg from May to May... so if I reg before the first of May I need to pay for a whole extra year for the coming month!!
