V11 Sport Vibration
«
on:

Hi - I just bought a 2002 V11 Sport that has been converted to carburetors. During test ride, I noticed the bike has above normal :bow:vibration in the pegs and handlebar after about 3500 rpm.
Is that typical?
Can it be "tuned out"?
Need to balance the engine?
Thanks
Pete

Start by syncing the carbs with a monometer. Post pics, what carbs?

Could be tuning, like carb balance or ignition timing or it could be something like bars or pegs. feel around to see if you can find something. At 3500 rpm you should be in third gear yet.

Why in the name of all that's holy would you put carbs on it? Pick up a set of used TB's and injectors/manifolds and take it back to FI!

Check the 6 bolts from the front engine mount, when they aren't tight or gone it will vibrate a lot more.

My bike likes to rev. Smoothest V-twin I've ever ridden. Smoother than my EV or Ducati.
Don't why it has carburetors.

Check if the guy you bought it from has the throttle bodies and the rest of the stuff, like Pete said, you'll be happier with the fuel injection .
