Hopefully not if it turns over & nothings cracked or missing. They may just want to get rid of something they're not too familiar with.

True.  Gotta wonder what other "Italian OEM parts" are available?

Since it looks like the machine is intact, it may be referring to the whole motorcycle worth of parts except for a broken engine or tranny.

By the time one gets this bike to an acceptable level I've got a feeling the cost to accomplish that feat would be far more than the value of this bike. JMO

I need a set of fork tubes. If those aren't rusty or bent, it would almost be worth it to me. The wheels would be nice to have, plus a lot of other parts. I can't tell, is that a 17" or 18" rear?

Pretty sure it's been on CL for at least 2 years, so it's been outside a long time.

Where and how the pictures are taken says a lot about the care a bike has received. Owner couldn't bother to pull it out of the weeds for proper pictures so my hunch is it's been abused / neglected. Assume a full restoration is needed then ask if it's worth the time and money to do so when cared for, running bikes don't cost much more.

This ^^^^. I exchanged some emails with the seller last month. Pretty sure that all the electrics are toast. He said the motor was flushed out. It's on Long Guy Land. Wasn't worth the trip for me at his asking price. Parts bike at best.

Cal 1100, should be a 17" rear wheel.

True. But that does look like the alloy 18" to me. The 17", as far as I know, was a chrome rim.

So it was in Sandy. Sad. Wonder what it's worth as a parts bike?

I, too exchanged e-mails with the Cro-Magnon-like guy selling it. He wasn't willing to string more than 3 words together to provide info about it. But I did learn that it was flooded by Sandy, and being on Long Guy Land, it's a bee-otch to get there. I've been watching the price drop, if I had the time and it was almost free, I'd be there.

As a flood survivor $-650.00 is where I’d value it. Salt water and metal are good parings.

Lucky you guys are on the money.
If I lived there and saw it, I’da fallen for it in all likelihood.. :embarrassed:
I just hate the stinking mentality of bastards that let something like that rot away.
I love that guy who did the fence post re build, he saw the intrinsic value in taking an abused and un loved orphan and said..
“I don’t care what your “value” is, you’re coming home with me.”
Sort of “to buggery with modern day throw away mentality”. Kind of, the worse it’s condition is, the greater the reward.
Imagine if whoever had left it there, threw it in a shed or barn, maybe mouse damage or similar but, jeeezzz..
They’re just ****s.
Same goes for nice boats that are left to languish, or....GASP..!!!

He wanted $1,200 two years ago. I offered him $700 and he turned me down.

Sometimes covers are worse that leaving uncovered. Most use a blue tarp or sheet of rubber for a cover that doesn't breathe. Once moisture gets under there it like a greenhouse.

True mate..
But I said,
“Under cover” not “Under a cover”.
