A new, V7III based 750cc Ambassador is coming?
« on: May 09, 2019, 08:58:54 PM »
Saw this on Instagram today.... Can't find any other info, and no pic of a new model is offered...  But this sounds like we are going to see a new Ambo 750 on the V7 platform?? Is that how you are reading this?

Yeah,  I think it’s a flashback add too.  Put out when you have nothing new to say I presume.

I do think it’s a bit odd they haven’t put out an Ambo/Eldo Nuevo v7?  It would be super easy and cheap to do and they could likely sell a couple thousand rather quickly.

They HAVE put out a nuovo Eldorado - as a 1400.  Even called one of the earlier white 1400’s an “Ambassador”.

There’s no reason why they wouldn’t put out a 750 version, is there?

I'd go further and say there's every reason they should. Especially in this day and age. Maybe millennials are not as worried about some bs perilous correlation between penis size and CCs.

Honestly I love everything about my RK EXCEPT its size (both my ass* and displacement). I would LOVE something smaller but just as stable/comfortable.

Edit--best auto correct mistake EVER. This was supposed to be MASS!!!  :laugh: :laugh: :grin: :grin:

I agree.  My Road Glide is my last big bike.  I physically can't tour anymore and am gravitating toward simple machines.  I am loving the Royal Enfield Himalayan because it opened up so many roads near me that I would never have attempted on the Harley and would be hesitant to take the V7 down.  750cc is as big as i want these days, but I have no plans on parting with the Harley because it is the most comfortable and allows me to expand my riding circle.

That was Triumph's method and it seems to be working; then slowly add new models as needed. :thumb:

Exactly! Triumph did a wonderful job with its Bonnie series and Guzzi did well with their V7 line up.

Both retained their vintage feel while still have the modern trinkets.

Harley DOES make something similar to your RK, but, closer in mASS and size (but, not displacement) to your '96 RK:

Are you really gonna lecture me on Harleys lol.

Unfortunately it is lacking the following which you get on an RK:

* Dual front Brembos
* Rear crash bars
* Tubeless cast wheels
* Bigger/better RK bags

But it's close.... Close....

When I heard they were going to put out the sport glide I was hoping it was going to have a frame mounted fairing.  Like what this guy created.

Yeah I think the Sport Glide is at the top of my list for the current Softails. If they'd just add an extra disc and maybe a little more FXRT style fairing coverage I'd be very tempted. As long as I could adapt the floorboards too.

I'm convinced they are releasing an Ambo tribute bike on the V7iii platform...  From the wording of the post. Not providing a picture, and instead putting up 4-5 pics of the original ambo is just par for the course for MG social media...

I will note that these posts appeared on the MG official account, and also on the MG Spain account, but I did not see them on MG americas or other official MG accounts...

Unfortunately the sport gluide it is lacking the following which you get on an RK:

* Dual front Brembos
* Rear crash bars
* xxxxxxxxxxxx
* Bigger/better RK bags

And at 700lbs it's too damn heavy for my taste. Been there done that, had enough, now my upper limit is 500-550 lbs.

OOOPS - you are, of course, correct sir, I WAS confusing that with my Objection to the Heritage! (which does sadly come with tubed spokes and even worse bags). While we're at it we can add a lack of driving lamps to the Sport Glide (though the Heritage has them).

I do have to agree, I'm not a huge fan of the bags on the Heritage.
If they put cast alloy wheels and RK style bags (albeit, maybe slightly smaller to be to scale if the RK bags on't look right) on the Heritage, would you buy one?
