Thanks for the plug, Charlie!

New location this year in Mt. Airy, MD, very convenient to I-70 between Baltimore and Frederick, MD.  Lots of nice roads in the area if you want to avoid the superslab.  New for this year also is the inclusion of Japanese vintage & classic bikes.  There is a very active vintage Japanese motorcycles group in northern VA and surrounding area, so we are hoping for a large presence from them.  There will be food available at the show, but also the town of Mt. Airy has several nice non-chain restaurants (as well as a wide selection of the usual fast-food places) within a couple of miles of the fairgrounds.  Weather is currently predicted to be sunny & in the mid-80s for Sunday - no guarantees on that and it is a rain-or-shine event so "come on down" regardless of the weather.

Full disclosure - I'm a past board member of the group putting on the show, and I still have an interest in seeing it do well.

So, what's the problem?  It's only 5.5 hrs each way doing the I-81 route, & only 7 or so hrs each way doing US routes 58, 29, & 15 most of the way up.  Piece of cake!  We do usually have a couple of guys who drive down from Connecticut every year for the show...

I’d love to come but work won’t allow it this go round. Next year will be different as I am ending my part time job in September. Y’all have fun and send pictures, please:)

I will be there on my black 1200 Sport. Bringing my buddy on his Triumph Sprint since the featured marque is Triumph. Maybe Guzzi next year?

This is shaping up to be an Unintentional Loopframe Rally. I think there are at least six going.  :azn:

Sounds good.  Mine will be there, too.  I'm hoping to see at least a couple of singles there too.

There will also be a very interesting 3-wheeled tandem bicycle from the 1880's if the weather holds.  The guy bringing it has an interesting collection of 3-wheelers & has brought a different one each time for the past couple of years.

Just got back.  Great show.  The Munch Mammoth alone was worth the trip.

Weird part of the trip home was going down rte 15 in Va and randomly pulling up next to a toy on a super clean 72 Eldorado that was just out for the afternoon.

How did you know she was a toy?   Might have been a perfectly respectable person on that bike.....

As long as we're on the subject, I was riding US58 between Damascus and Volney on Saturday on the Norton, and a group came by (right in the hard turn that goes up to White Oak) that included a nice white 70s or 80s Tonti Guzzi of some kind.   :thumb:

A rare sight!   Anyone here?

Photos from the event. I'll caption them as time allows.

9 am arrival. The show field was already filling up. Travman, Thetan and I wandered over for the VFD breakfast buffet.

Laverda Jota and Harley/Aermacchi SX350.

Not eligible for the show, this Bimota DB3 Mantra was parked off to the side.

Clean cafe' Yamaha XS750 (or 850?) triple.

Zundapp (Horex) Citation and Munch Mammoth.

MV Agusta 175 (IIRC).

An early Suzuki RE5 with cylindrical instrument cluster and taillight.

'76 Yamaha XT500.

A street-legal Yamaha TZ750!

New Royal Enfield 650s on display. I had a good look at the INT and a little test-sit too. Very nice.

Rob North BSA triple. Sign said it ran 154 mph at Loring.  :bike-037:

Very nice '69 Ambassador belonging to Mark Loesch (hope I spelled that correctly). It won 1st in the Guzzi class and jumpmaster's Eldo took second.

Another view of the SX350 and Jota.

BSA M20?

Ariel

Suzuki GT750 "water buffalo"

The assembled masses.

Funky "tricycle built for two".

One of several Vincents in attendance.

More trike.

Velocette.

Munch details. Amazing piece of engineering.

'33 BMW R25?

More of the Rob North BSA.

A sorta strange device with a 1200 CC NSU 4 cylinder car engine built by Friedl Munch in the late 60's . Have sat on once but didn't get to ride it .
