It may be screaming, but I'm afraid the sound is being muffled under the $3K price tag ..... !

I agree! Why would anyone buy that instead of Lance's much nicer, ready-to-ride SP for less money?
Well yes...
Commonsense says you’re right and you are, but since when has commonsense had anything to do with motor bicycles ?
And..
That fence post rebuild and Canuck’s jobs are inspiring ! I’m a massive fan of that fence post bloke, to bring a bike back like that is just damn great..!
Also you leave a lot of yourself in a project like that I’d imagine...

If the CL bike was a Le Mans or V7 Sport, that would be one thing, but it's not. Basically just a "garden variety" Guzzi that would be very costly to make a nice bike out of again. His price is at least double what it should be, IMO.
All Guzzies are “garden variety”...
It’s just a very nice garden.
I think reducing a bikes worth to monetary value, is a little tasteless.
To restore a bridesmaid like that is noteworthy and a bit like bringing home a rescue Jack Russel when you could have bought an expensive Poodle.
I hope some bastard makes a go of it..

It's called "the market", and it drives you and me and everyone else.   You don't spend a dime more than you think you should on anything, and neither do I!

"Rescue" Jack Russells are usually free, or close to it.   This one's like bringing home an expensive junkyard dog when Jack Russells are going begging.   The whole thing that drives the price is that you can buy a nice Guzzi that hasn't been turned into someone else's wet-dream for the same money or less than this one.

You gonna go for it?  Nah, neither am I, so we've got THAT in common ....

With the experience I've had with the BUB oil pan I would use it as a wheel chock and pray that the rest of the bike is salvageable.

As is I would offer $500.00 and I am  being generous.

If all goes well both the 850T and SP1000 are leaving the fertile soils of the USA and taking a long boat ride down under.

I sold my LM IV to a guy in Oz last fall. I guess we're pretty lucky here in the states that Guzzis are so plentiful, it's not a big deal to molest one like in the CL ad.

I’ll spend more than I think the market value of something is worth Lannis, if I want it.
It’s worth to me, what I say it’s worth.
And I suggest that you are making a pretty safe bet saying that I won’t go for it, given that I live in Oz.
If you are comfortable with a hard nosed attitude then that’s what works for you.
What is your opinion of the fence post Guzzi rebuild...
Worth it say you..?
Furthermore..
I don’t want to buy someone else’s creation necessarily, I like to bring my own ideas to the fore..
And..
The “market” does not determine what I value something at, my desire does. It would be ill advised to attempt to tell me what I think, I’m not always sure myself.
Years ago I was told I should have bought a set of Griso wheels for my Norge, it would have been easier and possibly cheaper, (though I doubt the latter..)
The bike world is full of arm chair dealers and critics, but I would admire someone who took that orphan and made it “his” or “her” bike..

Are you capable of putting that emotion into words, or is that a bit of a stretch.

This is what I refer to as " A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree". It's not a bad little " insert munt", it just needs some love.
