Wind shields for the 1400's

First off I'd like to thank forum member NC Dan for putting me on to the good folks at Clearview  Windshields. Although not yet up on there website, they offer several screen options for our 1400 models, some of which are taller and/ or wider than the oem version. They also have a bit of a re curve flair at the top to kick the air flow up a bit more. I've never been thrilled with my factory screen as the wind stream hits right in the helmet and it gets tiring on long rides.
 Dan worked personally with the people at Clear view to develop the screens to fit on our oem mounts,[ they come pre drilled] and has spent a lot of time perfecting the wind protection on his 1400 touring.  I spoke with Craig at Clearview by phone and he was very good to deal with and happy to answer any and all questions. Another plus is they cost significantly less and offer more protection than the stock offering.  [Guzzi content ]

Glad to be able to return the favor of you fixing my TPS issue for me. After you mount your Clearview and take a few laps let me know if you want to add the lower deflectors and I’ll ship them to you👍👍👍

Hopefully, they'll get photos up for the 1400 offerings. As things are, (at least for me), the stock shield works pretty well. There is a little room for improvement. Better for a reasonable price would be good.

I think the hardware will exchange but I’m not 100% sure   
Maybe one of the guys that’s added a shield to the Eldo can chime in on that

with the stocker, you really have to have the lowers.  with the lowers, it is very good, but not perfect.  but, as noted, a pretty spendy proposition.

I designed these and they finished cleaning up the  turbulence when used with the tall windshields.

I was SO happy to learn from this forum about Clearview shields.

I was unhappy with the stock shield that came with my 2014 Touring. When the tall shield became available, I bought one ($$$$) and, while it was better, it was too tall- 5 inches taller than stock. Inexplicably M-G doesn't offer anything in between.

Clearshield IS the answer. I bought a shield from them that is 2 inches taller than the stock one and 3 inches shorter than the tall shield. The price was very reasonable and they shipped it quickly. I test-rode it today and it is GREAT! No buffeting, good wind protection, very happy.

Clearview shields are made of acrylic; OEM Guzzi shields are polycarbonate, which is much stronger. If that makes a difference to you.

My screen from Clearview arrived as well. I am also very happy with the result.  The  fit onto the factory hardware was exact and what a difference in wind protection. No more buffeting, and the height for me is perfect. I'm 5'10 and I can sit up real straight and look over it if I want, or sit relaxed and look through it. Cost with shipping was 170 dollars and it came very well packaged .  Here's a pic of the clearview next to the oem. Also ,the headlight cut out at the bottom is a bit higher and I believe it helps to equalize the air pressure behind the screen .

Well, I just ordered the mounting hardware for Eldo.  I'm guessing that the hole spacing is the same on all the 1400 windshields

I'll give Clearview a call tomorrow.
