Having pie in Julian today. Rented an Indian from North County Indian in San Marcos. Great folks to deal with. Stopped at the restaurant in Lake Henshaw and the server mentioned that the "Hideout" bar a couple miles east will be opening the weekend of the rally. So, there's that.

It looks like I may have to drop out this year. I'm scheduled for cataract surgery on the 2nd, and that may be too close to the NAR. Also, I doubt I'll have the one lens replaced in my glasses by then, so I'd also be trying to ride with asymmetric vision. Doesn't sound like the best of plans, but that could change. I'm not going to cancel my reservation until the last minute.

^^^^ John, have you looked into bifocal lens implants? Having cataracts removed and those suckers installed gave back my 20-20 vision..

I will be there! Jim Felice and I will be riding down together. The Griso is going in for a service tomorrow in preparation for this trip. Looking forward to some time away and some time with some good friends.

Looked into them and decided to go with single vision, distant vision.

I've been wearing glasses for 40 years, and appreciate the progressive lenses that work for reading, computer stuff, and seeing the dashboards on the bikes and cars. Also, the laser will probably (may well) correct the slight astigmatism I didn't even know I have.

Not really looking forward to someone running a laser around my eye, but is does sound a bit better than someone manually cutting on my eye with a knife.

The woman doing the work had very impressive credentials, and exudes competence and confidence.
