Saw my first V85TT today ...
« on: July 25, 2019, 03:30:19 PM »
... and I liked it. It was parked on the street in downtown Nashville. When I saw it in photos, I was lukewarm about it. But after seeing it in person, I really like it. The colors and proportions actually work in real life, much more so than in photos. I won't sell the Breva to buy one, but I like it.

I too saw a silver / grey one for the first time at the dealership in West Chester PA. After seeing many photos of the Red, Yellow & black version, I was disappointed in the silver. It looked "Plain Jane" with the silver grey paint. Basically black and grey do not excite me like the red, yellow & black. It certainly wouldn't stand out in a crowd. If you want to be anonymous, that bike will do it!

And since you almost have to use a magnifying glass to see the Moto Guzzi name on it... Moto Guzzi may remain anonymous. While other brands have their name emblazoned on the tank, MG has the little eagle. Oh yea... everyone knows that eagle!?!  If any brand needs its name to be "branded" on the bike, it's Guzzi!!!

Came out of a grocery store today to find an older guy looking at the V7 Stone.

I walked up and gave a friendly hello and he asked "What is it"?

Followed by "What's a Mo To Guzz E"?

Other comments were "looks fast" and "what size is it"?

Pleasant enough fella, probably doesn't know mANY brands ...

They could look at the seat where the bump is clearly labeled Moto Guzzi.

Ya, I agree. I saw that silver/gray in pictures and it looked amazing!!!  Vary sharp and classy.. But seeing one in person....  To my eyes it was vary plain and drab...  And this isn't the first to hide the MG name.. My 02 California stone just has two tiny ovals on the side of the tank that say Moto guzzi..  Lots of eagles on the bike...  but just that for name.

Guzzi minimizes the names on its bikes knowing that onlookers will ask the owner who makes it, and then get the long spiel about "the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer of all, situated on the beautiful shore of Lake Como, Italy, etc." Cheap advertising.

Nobody ever asks the question about a Honda.

I don't think that motorcycles are targets for thieves.  If no one will buy a new one, no wants a stolen one and there's no market for parts.
