FYI, Guzzi made sport bikes before 1973...

This one is a senior citizen!

The Raceco bike

Did he purchase that from the guy who runs Gutsibits in the UK or was that a different bike?

I'm interested in any details you have about running temps as it appears to be running a MotoSpezial Vee sump and no cooler (I'm having problems with temperature on my RS)

John

Different bike
#1/100 as requested by Frank from the importer (said to be a young in cheek request).
Frank was racing at the time and importer for RACECO in Australia
Apparently he got a few special parts from Amedeo.
Brad in Melbourne tuned the ECU before moving on to 4 wheeled motorsports in the US

Frank sold the bike to Dave who was great with the cosmetics.
Dave sold the bike to me & not being confident in the local mechanical expertise I sold on to Mike.

Mike picked up another 1288 road bike & I believe the green 1288 race bike

Recently he bought Bruce’s bike from the UK...

Under the faring, in front of the exhaust you can see the cooler, she was plumbed from the rear - you can just see the fitting at the rear of the sump, was a fancy anodised red& blue. I had no temp issues.

Mike Coats is on Facebook guzziracer.com & I’m sure would be happy to help more. Sadly Dave has passed after his long battle with the big C but he cheated it by a few years.
850 T3
850 LeMans killer goose or somesutch I’m told
850 LeMans
850 LeMans II (I've butchered it by fitting a round headlight & removing the front faring.)
SP1000 Stucchi
V11 Ballabio
V7 Sport (needs a little work)
